1. I dont know Tony, Since you were a No show :nono: at Windham there was some talk :argue: about you getting kicked from the Carve Fathers.

......carving life moves on. I see, the carve fest was also a sign up event. That's okay I'll just carve by and wave hello. :p

Hey Don, the ABC school session is always open. In case you go to the okemo fest and I am not part of the gathering, because of Evil Yoda Master, ask for King of Knuckle Head Dragon Freak, Ron Matia :smashfrea (KKHDF) for some pointers. I'll be in the woods watching the show. :lurk: You know what I'm sayingggg.

  2. What the F*** is this? Is this a new thing or something?:AR15firin Who's the leader of this ring? Can I join or is there some sort of fee?

AH! Bobby Buggs I heard you had a good time at the fest! Well count me in for the okemo gathering. I was talking to the Knuckle head today. He is calling in the carving cavalry for that week.

In fact I am going this week for Tuesday and Wednesday for a warm up. Been out for 2 months of no carving. I got pretty fat in the belly, it's embarrassing! :angryfire

    Look forward to it! :biggthump

  3. Someday, one of us freecarvers who has learned how to carve on real bindings is going to decide to race. His coach is going to say, you've got to get rid of those stiff bindings, and you've got to forget that technique and ride like I tell you. And he's going to respond, to hell with those flimsy bindings, and I ride just fine the way I do. And he's going to race his way, and beat up on the other cookie-cutter racers with rubber bands on their feet.

Oh wait, someone already did that and won 5 world championships.

Agree. I remember those days on the Burton race plates how I was able to have alot of turning flex with the boots. While I am not a racer I can understand why some of the racers are using those types of bindings. As they don't have to deal with the stiffness as they go into the turns.

But curious what they use when they go free-riding. You will put more stress free-carving than racing. So using flimsy bindings are not going to hurt. But you do run the risk of busting the bails if not replace for every 2 or 3 events.

  4. Who The F*** is that? Not the little Italian guy that is also known as Kunckle Head dragon and the king of the air chair? :smashfrea LOL.

When did he become this so call "Carve father?" Hey Ronnie I hope you are reading this---- :barf:

Hey Bobby Buggs! How was the out west trip? I hope to be there too. 2 months of no carving sure do sucks. This is my worst season ever!

I just got off the phone with Kunckle Head Ronski. He told me about 20 carvers are coming. Wow.

    Good job Had! :biggthump

  5. I never been there? I was thinking of going for Saturday. How is the Mt for carving overall? I am new to the sport and hoping to get some pointers. Never rode with a group of carvers before. ;)

It's been a while since I even rode any NY mts, as I have a pass for VT. Windham was the MT where I finally got to master my G turns a few years back. I did enjoyed Windham until I found Killington and Okemo.

If not too chaos this weekend, I would recommend Lower Wipeout to learn the carve. Lower Whistler and Wolverine are also good trails.

The Local 4's: Hunter, Windham, Butternut and Jimney Peak are good Mts for carving. There are always a good crowd of cavers at these mts. I hope to be at the fest this Saturday as it depends on the weather.

    Cheers

  6. Hello,

When I said that Miller should step aside , I was really saying that if you go to the games with a "Don't care to finish the race Attitude." Then why bother to compete in the games. I mean no in the olympics is going to give up their postion, unless you get hurt. I just thought it was a stupid comment on his part. But he is who he is.

After all he did very well in yesterday race, however was beaten several times by faster skiers. He is an outstanding skier with great skill of balance. But why use that kind of attitude remarks about yourself. Not professional.

The bone thing was a joke. I understood what you were saying about others should take his spot by beating him and guess what they are.

Sorry for the confusion. Peace

  7. I've watched Billy Bordy rail his Burner on tight runs at The Canyons and cut an arc smaller than others on a 15m radius board.

Miss that place, good MT to ride. How are the conditions? I was there in 04. Is this the Billy that is marry or have a girl friend name Sue?

If this is the same Bill I know, I rode with them with Ronnie and Elliot. I had a great time with them. :eplus2:

  8. In way I would have to agree in what Philfell is saying about the routine story. That would be like a skier telling us not to carve the G's Turns.

It's who you are and what you enjoyed doing. It really was too bad she lost her balance and lost the gold medal.

It was good for her to come out and said, she made a mistake. That is a professional athlete comment.

    Peace

  9. My first board was the Sims Blade 1710 with the gold stripes then.

However the first board I rode was the Burton Cruzer with the metal fin in the center. Yilkes.

My first alpine board was the Burton Alp with the Ram head (3 days use only). That was quickly replace by the Burton coil as the Alp board was a defect. Good spring board.

    Double

  10. ...it's part of the sport life.

I was a bit surprise at Miller's stupid comment and as for Jacobellis, well she is 20 years and was overly excited and wanted to show off I guess. I was talking to the TV and saying okay enough of the airs and stop looking back, cause you're losing your balance and then boom. Like Jack said, she has another 2 more Olympics to go to. Hopefully she will learn from this mistake.

  11. Are you guys still riding with the ipod??? LOL. Good video and I notice Ronnie is still doing the scarecrow lapdance when jumping. Tell him to knock it off already! :smashfrea .

Hey Buggs have a goodtime in CO! Wish I was going. This will be the first time in 21 years I never rode in Jan!!! I feel sick about it. :barf:

I talking to the King of all knuckle-head dragons (Ron) on Friday. Coming home wtih Elliot and Wes from Butternut. Told me it was great day.

BTW if you get a chance you, can call me later tonight or email me your phone. Just want to ask you about something what Ronnie told me. If you're not too busy.

  12. Hey Bobby Buggs!

Miss ya too and Long time no see!

It was good talking to you on the phone today! Hopefully we can get together with the whole gang soon for a mini-expression day!

Just wanted to remind you to keep in touch with Ronnie on the next time you guys meet! If the weather is good I'll be there! Looking forward in riding with the king of all kunckle-head dragons, Ronski! :smashfrea

Hey Don! Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Been away from the internet. Check your email. ;)

    Cheers

  13. If you are, you might want to replace the Burton plates with better bindings, when the time comes.

I did something very simular with vinyl tubing too. While this may help for a while, those bails are prone to break. I busted the bails 5x. Very thin and soft bails. It also depends on your riding as well. The extreme riding will weaken those bails eventually.

    Use caution! ;)

  14. Ive just bought some Deeluxe suzukas, with TD2 intecs, I also went with 3/3 cant, and the suspension kit, Im alittle nervous about the 3/3 cant will I still be able to lay down the carves, will I notice a big difference? is there anyone out there who has made a change like this maybe give me some feedback if you would be so Nice!!

    Thanks Alot!!

We have almost the same set up, only I am still using the TD 1. When I finally gave up the race plates and got new boots, the FP was like a new board! I felt very stable and better control in the turns. The only thing that did change a bit was the heel side. After a few runs you will adjust to the new equipment!

    Cheers!

  15. Just look at any pictures here, You see it everywhere.

    As Jack put it:

Alpine riders use gravity much like a sailor or windsurfer uses the wind to cut the fastest tack across the water. By redirecting the force of gravity, the snowboard takes the rider in a direction different from that which gravity would normally dictate. This difference is what enables snowboarders to control how fast and wide they carve down a hill. Toying with gravity by making delicate adjustments from foot to foot and from side to side to get the fastest and cleanest line down the slope is the never ending pursuit that alpine riders crave .

  16. I went to Stowe on Saturday and only saw like one carver. Is Killington just better to carve at or is it just prefrence?

Killington is a great MT overall. Many different terrian to choose from. I would have to say it just closer to many areas of MASS, CONN, NY and NJ. Love that Mt!

If it wasn't for the Okemo Pass, I will be going there instead. Miss that place!

  17. Z,

What size your 325's be? I got brand new (practically) pair of Burton Winds I don't use anymore (for freebees to you). Better they die a glorious life than just dry rot away in my garage. Size 9.

    Sic

    Hey Sic!

The 325 were a size 27.5. I brought the Deeluxe Suzuka a few weeks ago. The Boots are great! The ThermoFlex liners were the answers to my foot problem. I no longer need the mole foam padding any more. I bake the liners in my oven a week ago! Hmmm taste good! :1luvu:

    Thanks!
