  1. email sent.... hope they're available.
  2. Hey, I've made an thread here before and I got a lot of good suggestions so I thought I'd try again to see whats out there. I weigh 150 lbs (68 kg) and I wear a 28.5 boot. Looking for: A board (metal would be nice) that suits my weight and has something near 21 cm waist 28 or 28.5 boots that would be an upgrade from my 10 year old burtons. Bindings? Sure why not. Obviously I'm a bit light so something with flex. Snow can't come quick enough! :biggthump
  3. I didn't know you could buy bombers in Japan...what store can I get them in?
  4. Hey, yeah I got your message. Still looking at some different options but I'll let you know if I'm interested, it may be a little wide for my needs though. Thanks for the message.
  5. Thanks CC, Im still thinking about that one. Not sure if I want to buy a board that is cracked like that to be honest. Otherwise I'd probably jump at that offer.
  6. Hey, I'm looking for a board that suits my weight range (150lbs/ 65 kg). I'd like to be able to EC so lots of edge hold and some flexy width would by good. I'm willing to drop some dough cuz if I can't find anything on here I'm just gonna have Bruce make me a awd coiler.
  7. Nice vid skywalker! By the way, I had an awesome week in Furano, you should seriously check it out next season (things are winding down there now). I'll drop you a line the next time I'm in Hokkaido.
  8. Flywalker, I'll email you my info. I am going to hatchikita kogen this weekend (in hyogo), we'll see how that goes. Its supposed to be one of the better areas in southern honshu. edit: your email is not on! could you turn messaging on, or just email me at my junk email. it is my username at hotmail dot com
  9. Yeah that'd be awesome man. I'm hoping to go up around the 21st (of march), got any free days around then? This was the onsen I was talking about near furano. Looks unbeatable! http://www.furano-kankou.com/english/hyperlinks/Accom/Accom-H-Ryounkaku.html
  10. Some nagano resorts are better than others but overall I agree, lift paths are very convoluted. Like having two single chair lifts right next to eachother, going to exactly the same place. Not very well thought out... Flywalker, I've read that Furano is well known around Japan for their culinary produce, and a lot of japan's best wine and cheese comes from there. If I go I'll have to do a trip report. Also there is a good national park nearby with some legendary looking onsens, I'll post photos when I get back home from work. Thanks for the advice. I'll consider using niseko as a base, especially if its no longer super busy. The only issue I'd have with going to multiple hills is that traveling might get expensive. I still need to find a flight, which seems difficult because I think most schools get those weeks off as a spring break...
  11. I live in Osaka. I have yet to check out places in gifu (dynaland) but I did go to some small places in shiga-ken. From what I've read Furano and Rusutsu are supposed to have the best groomers in Hokkaido, how does Furano compare? I am kind of pulling for that place because the town seems pretty culturally interesting as well. I'm thinking of staying for around 8 nights, so I'd like someplace that can hold my interest for that long. Also correct me if I'm wrong but Rusutsu is more of a resort than an actual town, so maybe I would be a bit bored there if I'm not on the slopes?
  12. Hakuba and Nozawa are both in Nagano, Nagano is actually a huge area with a lot of different mountains. I've seen a lot more alpine boards here than I do in the states, it seems like the japanese are fairly into it. Despite this I haven't seem any of them do rail to rail carving, I think it has just recently taken off and there are a lot of beginners. Maybe racing is more popular than freecarving though. The most common alpine boards here are F2s and ogasaka, so I think they still like to buy Japanese brands. Even here though I think ogasaka is kinda overpriced...
  13. I wanted to get some discussion going on good alpine courses in Japan. So far I have been to Hakuba and Nozawa Onsen and while both have had wonderful snow, there was not much in the way of groomed runs. I'm looking to go to either Niseko or maybe Furano in Hokkaido in a few weeks, but I wanted to know if anyone had any experience finding groomed runs here. From what I've experienced so far, a "black diamond" run in Japan is just a run that is steep and hasn't been groomed since the late 80s. I never see anyone going down these runs except the one or two mogul hound or lost boarder who are stopping after one or two turns all the way down. What a waste of great snow....
  14. Yes Sean was right. After I bent the board I could pull them off with my fingers; pretty great! Thanks for your help yall.
  15. (in response to scrutton) Ah yes I remember reading about that, although I'm not sure what year mine are from exactly. I'll try the wood or something like that and if it doesn't work I may just leave them, I think I'm happy with their position. I guess I could also melt them off with some bunsen burners bobdea: I'll try that too if I can get a thin flathead but I think the shop guy may have tried that as well and he couldn't get it under. probably didn't have anything thin enough.
  16. Thanks, I thought that might be the problem. Think there is any danger of tearing the topsheet? It is on a FCII if it matters, but it is in almost new condition.
  17. So I recently got a board/binding combo that is about 5 years old, and it seems as though the binding plates haven't been moved for those 5 years. They are catek OS1s, and I can't move them even when I take off the screws. Any suggestions? The board shop I was at to get things tuned had no idea either and they sold cateks (although only the new ones). Sorry if this is obvious or a common question, I'm pretty new to plate bindings. Thanks!
  18. hate to do it but I think I'll have to pass, it seems like sending a snowboard from Canada to an american army base overseas will have complications or be expensive. Board is up for grabs as far as I know.
  19. Think they will be too big for me, I am close to a 28.5 . Looks like a nice pair though!
  20. also email me info about year, specifications (I can't find any info online about prior gs boards) and any more pictures if you got em. If its in good physical shape and has lots of camber left I'll buy thanks~
  21. great, guess I'm up next! email is dblbasscleph at gmail dot com send me an email and I'll give you my address to calculate shipping
  22. I'm interested. Any noticeable cracks or scratches or anything like that? How warm do you find the liners?
  23. Haven't heard from you in a few days, still looking up the shipping costs?
  24. damn wish this thing was a little shorter, looks like a great deal. I'm around 160 lbs intermediate rider, think I have a chance?
