  1. I want the TD2 standards, but I don't want to deal with the toe bail overhang. The SI's would be sweet...but aparently, lateral flex becomes a problem with these. What do I do here? I dont want to use my old burton race plates. I know I can updrage to the Catek toe bails on the standards, but frankly, I don't want to modify the TD2 and void the warranty. I emailed bomber on this, and wasn't given a clear answer. HELP!
  2. For sure, speedzilla. I'm ordering right after xmas, hope to have 2nd or 3rd week in Jan. I figure by then, we will have real snow on the ground, and everyone will be 100% open. Haven't been to Buck in years. Hylands mainly, and Wild or Afton a few times a month. I refuse to ride until I get my new setup...it's my way of making myself buy it. Still dont know what topsheet color to do. I wanted red, but don't want to be confused w Swoard. Thinkin black or white instead. See you out there!
  3. I'm getting the Donek Blade 180. Now i need to decide on Med or Stiff flex. Im 6'3", 195lbs w/o gear, and been on plates for 9 years. Sean at Donek suggested the Medium, as i'm right on the cutoff for med and the stiff flex. I'm concerned that I may fold the nose on a med flex. I've never rode a donek, and don't know how to judge the flex. I know with the larger sidecut, softer is better....but i dont want it too soft. Any suggestions? This is a large investment for me, so I want to get it right.
  4. I've been riding a prime 173 with a 180 waist for 8 years now. 69 degrees front and rear. I'm well aware that this board isn't the end all be all for ECing. It's the thought of having more relaxed angles and a smoother ride that sold me. Anyhoo...what's the general concensus on the TD2 standard regarding the overhang issue? I'm using Head SPs, size 28. Hoping to ride 45 to 50 degrees roughly. I dont want to have to angle in too much just to compensate for the overhang on the toe bail. I really want the TD2's, but if the bail hang is a problem, are there any other bomb proof bindings that will suit my needs?
  5. Just what the post says. I'm pretty sure I'm pickin up the new Blade 180, and am set on the TD2. I read a thread on the extremecarving forum about the bail on the standards hangin way over on the toe. Is this true? Would the step ins be a better match? EC turns are all I plan on with this board.
  6. I'll be sending him one shortly. For now, I'm in search of opinions or facts from anyone who has them.
  7. I've been riding a Prime 173 for the better part of 8 years now, and need to get a new board. The release of the blade has made me want to purchase something wider than expected. I've always prefered a skinney waist and high angles. I was looking into the Donek 185 FC for a while now, but now that I've decided to try wider board, I don't know which one to purchase. First up is this new Blade 180. 14m sidecut, 23.5 waist, but only a 7.8 on the flex chart. I'm assuming the prime I've been on is quite a bit stiffer than 7.8, and I could make that prime bend! At 6'3", 195lbs, would a 7.8 be too soft? The other board is the Donek 185 Steinberg FC. A 12.5m sidecut and 23 waist, and a stiffer board at 8.7. Other than the flex being a concern, so is the sidecut. The prime is a 13.31, i think? I thought a smaller sidecut would help get the hold doing these laid out carves, but the Blade went with a 14m? I dont get it? Is it the soft flex that helps counter act the large sidecut on the blade? I'm all confused. What I need is something that will hold an edge like crazy hauling @$$, and something I can layout when just cruisin.
  8. "your girlfriend says she likes them long and stiff, not short and soft"
  9. I've got a 73 prime, the blue one w race plates. 1996 model maybe? Base and edges are good, deck is a little beat up. Make an offer if interested. It's pretty stable at speed. I'm 190lbs as well, and it lays them out decently. It's stiff, however. This was my GS board.
  10. Anyone tried this yet. I dont know how to post the link, but it's Doneks new extreme carve board. I think I'm gonna get it!
  11. What up boys? Slowly anticipating snow here in Bloomington. What's this about F2 gear? What's for sale? Anyone got a Donek FC 185 they want to unload before the snow hits, or do I gotta fork over the 6hundo for a new one? My Factory Prime needs to be put down, ASAP! Also, with this make over buck got, is it going to open up any good groomers to haul on, or no? ~B
  12. I've got a Burton Safari 16?. OK shape, the board I learned on. Has hi-back 3 strap bindings, also.
  13. How old is this board?? I know it's been used 1 season, but what year model is it?
  14. Could you email pics to WhatRLaws4@aol.com?
