  1. Something I haven't seen anybody say yet:

I know you want a softboot set up, or that was your intention, because hardboot set ups are too expensive, right?

It may seem expensive right now, but you would be purchasing quality that you will most likely never have to buy again.

With a new (or even used) set of UPZ, Head, or Deeluxe/Raichle boots, and a new (or even used) set of Trench Digger, F2, or Catek bindings (or really anything with a metal frame) most likely, you will never have to buy anything else again.

Maybe a second board kit, if you get another board.

(unless of course you're a gear whore, like a few known members on BOL) :o

    My 2-cents.

  2. That doesn't make much sense... They've got already two other colors for 85a.

With every new generation of truck, they produce a new color for the bushings, always the same durometer.

green bushings are for the 3rd gen trucks.

  3. At some point I'd like to make delrin pivot cups, but right now I don't have the tools to do it properly...

Sounds like a much cheaper and easier alternative with better results than the stock pivot cups!

Delrin, as in the same delrin used in slide pucks right?

  4. The speedsuit regulations were created to slow down the athlete after a fall. Speedsuit have to meet criteria for air penetration ( they can't be slick, rubber style ). This criteria help friction with snow after a fall, to slow down the athlete. But the same criteria allow cold air on the athlete, chance of frostbite/hypothermia.

A "slick" material as a 3-ply Goretex/nylon will prevent cold air and keep the athlete warm, but it will slide faster on snow after a fall than "speedsuit", depending on suit design of course.

    Superbee

    A little OT:

If the suit was rubber like...

Wouldn't it eventually (at a slow enough speed) grip the snow and ragdoll the rider?
