  1. I'm reminded of bragging to my friend Bob who was full time ski bum in Colorado at the time, "I've got 65 days in so far this season! You?" He looked a bit perplexed, paused for a moment and said, "I'm not sure how many days I skied. I know I've missed 3 days so far."
  2. That's about right. Not much for turning but you sure get back on the lift quick.
  3. I'll see if I can get in close on the photo...
  4. I went up to Cypress today to cruise the crud and ended up cursing and crude because I could NOT keep up with this little tornado. Awesome.
  5. Here are photos of the board, bindings, the worst scratch and some sort of little indention that was likely there from the factory? (I never noticed it before.)
  6. Boarding the Emerald chair at Whistler once an angry old man with a German or Austrian accent started shaking his finger at me and yelling. "YOU ARE COMING DOWN THIS MOUNTAIN LIKE A HOUSE ON FIRE!" I was stunned. All I could say was... "thank you."
  7. I have a couple of Vintage Sims snowboards but the one that might be the most interesting to someone would be the Sims Ace. It is a Regular foot 175. I have the original hard boot bindings and the setup has been ridden one time. I am looking for a board I can ride in powder and in all around conditions after the cord is thrashed. The fact of the matter is that the Ace is a massive big wide thing that would probably float through powder just fine. And I will try it out if no one has something suitable for trade. I just thought that since the thing is practically as new, I would give it a chance to find a home with someone that might really dig it. thanks! Robert
  8. I am looking to take a video camera up to Cypress to practice filming with it for an upcoming project. If you are going up between the 19th and 23rd or so of March, message me here or you can e-mail me at robert(at)robertearnest.com and perhaps we can meet up and goof around with it.
  9. Anyone have a zero cant disc and bumpers for a TD1 setup? I only need one but would take two if you have a set you want to get rid of. Thanks!!! R
  10. Where are you located?
  11. It seems no matter what I ride (and admittedly I haven't the majority of boards out there) I always seem to have the best times on my 197 burner. It is super fast, super stable and just seems to chew up ice or bumpy crud with equal disregard. Perhaps I am just too heavy for my other boards at just under 200 pounds but while they have half the sidecut radius and feel like an Audi TT, I always return to the Veyron feel of the big Burner. But of course, it won't last forever. I know I'll weep when that tail snaps as I have to lay it out to avoid some tiny meat pylon in the wee ski program who did or didn't turn when I thought they would as I push my luck to get in "just one more" before it gets "really" crowded. So, where do you go from there? If you snapped your burner, what would be next? Surely after all these years there is an even better board out there? Something as fast and damp that feels like you are riding on railroad tracks? I would assume it would be a full on race board but if not tell me what and why if you have an opinion and the time. Thanks!
  12. For $200 I will personally pack it and ship it to your specifications at your expense. Packing at my expense because I know that I will do a good job. Shipping at yours with whomever you wish to ship with. And insurance at your discretion, expense and responsibility. Unless I get a better offer? Do I hear $201? r
  13. No problems. If the board doesn't sell, I will be applying to you for monetary bailout assistance.
  14. The word SIMS that you saw was a stomp pad. SIMS made an oval shaped foam stomp pad that you could use full or you could punch out the letters SIMS and either stick down the word or the oval with the letters punched out. I peeled off the foam letters before I took the last photos and no, there is no other printing on the board. there are a few foam bits stuck on there but they should come off easily enough. I have a custom Prior that I bought off Chris when he still had his factory on the North Shore of Vancouver. I would sell it but to be truthful, I rode the living **** out of that board. AND! The topsheet is wrong. Or a one off. Or something. I can't remember. It is either a 4x4 or a 4wd. Can't remember that either and of course you can't tell from the topsheet. Anyway, maybe this Option board is one of his early creations? Maybe I should ask him? r Here is a shot of it without the stomp pad. Also, I apologize for thinking that you were being a tremendous pain in the ass. Turns out you are tremendously observant and I have high regard for that... good on ya'

    Ace 175

That is awesome! I think it is a little older than mine. Interestingly, it says it is designed for all the things that I was thinking I should get another board for. Depending on conditions I like to lay down first tracks on one of my boards of choice, a 165 UltraPrime or a 195 Burner. Many times I will start out on the Burner and move to the UltraPrime when it starts to get a little more crowded. By lunchtime, neither board seems to work as the cord is ski school covered crud and the trees are calling. Not to mention the damage I could do if I were to take out one of those six year old ski school pylons at full speed on the burner. Don't tell anyone but I was even thinking of switching to skis after lunch when I typically meet up with the wife and kids. Maybe the answer has been sitting in my basement all along! I am still open to any deal that will get me another burner or some TD stepins but am becoming more and more interested in this board. How stupid is that? Kind of like when you just couldn't wait to break-up with your girlfriend and then when you did couldn't stand seeing how much fun the next guy was having with her. Another question is... has anyone used TD-step ins on the back and "natural" step ins on the front? This would allow me to share with friends that don't have step-intech heels AND have TD-step in capabilities on two boards when I don't have any friends. Which is most of the time. :(
  16. Here is everything I can offer about the Option board. There is no other printing on the board that I can find. The tape measurement is of the waist. r
  17. I'm not sure that Option is a Sims model. Are you sure? They have their own website... http://www.optionsnowboards.com/ What do you think? Are you saying that Option and Sims are made by the same manufacturer? r

    Ace 175

I was thinking that i could have used the term "Usual" stance but I am starting to think that everyone on this form is unusual... so that wouldn't work.

    Ace 175

I am not sure if those would work, Jack. I can't see how you could adjust them to your personal preference of degree unless there is another part to them? A base plate of some sort? The Ace has essentially a 4 hole pattern spaced far apart. The board has 8 holes which provide limited forward and aft adjustments. There may be a method of finer adjustment on the bindings themselves but I haven't dug them out yet. I've attached photos of the front hole pattern with pieces of paper and yellow dots to indicate their locations. You will notice that there is an extra hole forward of the pattern? That hole was designed for one to attach their leash... I've also uploaded some information from the edge of the board. The Serial number and the statement "Made In Italy".

    Ace 175

Regular foot? Where's the romance in that? "I'm a regular born lover man" "Regular Born Killers" "The American Museum of Regular History" Who would subscribe to Regulopathic Medicine? Next you'll be telling me goofy riders are irregular. r

    Ace 175

It should be noted that this board is for a natural stance rider! Also that I have hardboot bindings which should come with it as it has the old SIMS style hole pattern.
  22. Thanks for the offer. I'll keep it in mind.
