  1. My son Joseph explains you should do a "hot scrap". After scraping the easy stuff, iron in a penetrating base prep wax over the entire base. Starting from the tip in five inches increments, heat the base with hot iron and scrape immediatly.

  2. We were both on hero snow as the temps warmed the day before at Welch and Buck. This may be partly responsible for the clumsy first turns on harder snow Sunday morning. I still can't imagine the physics and board contortion that would leave untouched cord between the tip and tail on the same turn. Maybe it's a prelude to hovering.

  3. There will be several hundred 10 - 18 year old ski racers at Buck this weekend with training runs open from 7:00 AM both days. Any one know who I might speak with to encourage management to groom our carving trails after the skiers gouge the cord with their training courses?

  4. Joseph did some trenchin' today for the first time. He and I will be at Buck in the AM tomorrow. He says he likes carving better than skiing groomers after the first experience on the F2.

Bob D - - we borrowed your old Burton Boots from Karl's car trunk. Joseph would like to try them tomorrow. We hope it's OK by you. They seem to fit lika a glove. :biggthump
