That sucks big time! I guess I won't be competing at nationals this year since I don't own a board that's legal for either event. Sugarloaf would have had a great course, too.
  2. I'm a fan of doing pyramid workouts. I usually just go with Imperial Curls though. You start with 22oz, do that once, then try 16oz once, then 10oz, then 4oz. Pour another, repeat. I usually do several sets - to build tone.
  3. ...If you don't do it yourself, you can bring your boards to shops that are traditionally ski-only places that don't particularly like snowboarders, and they will immediately recognize your gear for what it is and treat it with care. I always get a kick out of it when I go to pick up my boards and everyone in the shop knows of them.
  4. I'm going to be there anyway with an ex-CVAer, so I'm looking for other places to go.
  5. I like the Mt St Anne idea - how far is it from the city?
  6. I'm looking for carving. I got my fill of tree runs when I used to ski, and jsut don't enjoy them on a board. So Tremblant isn't worth the drive?
  7. I'm looking for a place on the east coast (drivable from Boston) for a few days of carving. Last winter I went to Stowe the night before the dumping (Jan 4) and loved it (except for the first day, since I was totally ill-equipped for waist deep powder). It was double-extra-cool that Burton was having their annual company outing at the same time, since most of the people were great riders and friendly people. I even saw a few people carving **on snowdecks**! Anyway, I'm looking for another place to go. I'd like to avoid southern VT (Okemo, Stratton, Mt Blow, etc) since I'm there almost every weekend of the season. I'd also like to avoid SugarLoaf since I'll be there for ECES, and possibly in Dec as well since I have a friend who lives there. I was thinking of giving Mt Tremblant a go. This would probably be in early Jan, so I know it would be cold. How would the conditions be? How is the mountain? Good for carving? Is there a decent nightlife? Any other recs for where to go?
  8. Did anyone else think "Boston Audi Group" when Jack mentioned BAG? I know those guys like to go to F1Boston some times.
  9. I'd lvoe to get more gates in as well. I'm not as good of a rider as Steve, but maybe some practice could fix that? :-) Noah, if you're looking for a college team to coach, I hear WPI is looking for someone....
  10. I might be doing USCSA this year, but we'll see. Freeriding is a higher priority than classes, but classes rank higher than racing.
  11. I have 2 pairs or brand new, this year, Race Stock (P60) Volkl skis (one gs, one slalom) that I want to get rid of for $500 each, including plates and bindings. They're within FIS regulation lengths (I think the shortest lengths approved). The bindings are Marker Motion. This price is below Pro-Form.
