received the new burton catalog today
observations:
1 winter must be coming
2 it's the size of a small phonebook (257 pages)
3 i realize i can't be a dude if i'm too old to read the
print without reading glasses

i've sewn webbing on each side of the hip
belt so i can clip on a biner to attach a small
water bottle or hat or gloves or binoculars or
whatever
i've been using an old Osprey Backside that has
worked well
good luck

carved from 9 - 11, friday
definitely not melt freeze, but not exactly winter
north facing off 1 was consistent, a tad funky, but
good carving
off of 2, by 10:30 or so, was inconsistent and soft
so the weekend . . . my guess is all mountain riding,
but will have a carve board just in case

full on winter
any exposed skin on 9 would be frostbitten
powder, windblown powder, windblown snow
in other words, another classic loveland april powder day
full lot = compacted snow
when i left around 12:30 it was snowing lightly, very cold
could be some nice carving sunday
see you there

bill --
for long term rental, check out Wildernest in Silverthorne. they
might have something for you
as for riding, just check out the CO group on bomber -- lots of
good folks to ride with
email with more questions anytime
cheers

in all fairness to the unhappy parkrider -- who appeared to be
incapable of making a decent turn, by the way -- two
trenches in particular left by mario could have overturned
a snowmobile if taken the wrong way

Saturday AM report:
parking lot: treacherous walking
parking lot: full
richards: closed, for of all things a tele race
(not ideal)

great to see all the carvers at loveland; thanks for coming
except for the high winds, frigid temps, and "subtle" light,
it really reminded me of buttermilk
come back anytime: we're at lift 1, when it opens, most
weekends
special thanks to mario and the bola-man

i'll bring cash: that bbq i'm sure will cost some $, mario
thanks for doing all that work
family coming in fri eve, but i should be able to be
there til noon or so

I suggest coming for the food first, the carving second.
Mario is a professional.
I have experienced the mastery of Mario's BBQ.
Bring an appetite and several boards, in that order.

Lovey on Sunday
in Colorado
Posted
dustin --
was up wed and by 10AM it was somewhat crazed
with people
i hope to be up sunday at 8:30, riding until it gets too busy
i fear that 10 - 2 may be dicey on a carve board
on a positive note, i bet they have mambo and
richards open, which should dilute the masses.
also, the snow / groom has been excellent
hope to see you there
