  1. How that thing stayed alive with TDs on it is beyond me. One hell of a mismatch. Saw a new 172 Arbor with TD3s last year. Looked like a bomb went off inside the middle of it. Three days on the snow.

Wow, are they just that mushy on the inside?

  2. Do I have a point? not really. Just think that most mountain is big enough for everybody. We are not going to miss 3 trails.

Guess it's human nature to want to do stuff we are forbid to do.

This could be a bad precedent for all of us.

The problem is, once you start banning a certain activity or group, you are setting a precedent for other resorts or hills to follow. Where do you stop?

  3. http://business.transworld.net/features/granite-peak-bans-snowboarders-from-skier-only-terrain/

Beginning this season, Wisconsin’s Granite Peak Ski Area will be restricting access to three of its runs to skiers only.
“Skiers have told us that the rhythm, turn radius, and visual orientation is different for skiers and snowboarders, and that they would enjoy a few runs dedicated just to skiers. We are now responding to this request by the dedication of three runs for this purpose.”
  4. Found them. I can snap some pics later if you need them. They are Raichle Freezone ski boots. The only thing that makes them different than there normal 325 snowboard boots are the DIN toe and heel.

They can accept the Bomber BTS. Only issue can be overhang, since the DIN toe and heel are larger. I didn't use the stock liner, had some thermos for them.

Think one or two riders here use them also. Here is a picture of the type I have.

Used them for last season only. If you're interested, $75 plus shipping.

  5. Link seems broken, didn't work for me. I did find these two though.

  6. I want to learn how to ski. My girlfriend does both, and purchased some ski's for me last year. I tried them out, and gave up after a bit. Just couldn't get the hang of it. I need to take lessons.

My main problem was not using both legs. Could only get my left leg to do anything. I ride regular, so that is my forward leg. I suspect it's the same when I ride too, since I always seem to wear out my forward leg a lot sooner.

Other issue was she bought ski's that where a touch too long for a beginner. Granted, once I learn they should rail.

  7. I wouldn't waste any time at Snowking. It was rubbish.

Jackson Hole is fun, tons of pow, good vibe. I didn't feel like there was any sort of attitude towards me being on a board. Should at least check out the Mangy Moose one night. Have a margarita, they're pretty darn good.

You should also try and go to Targhee. It's likely less crowded, the snow was as good, if not better than Jackson. At least when I was there in early Feb. Very easy to get to. There is a shuttle service also if you don't have a rental.

If you are staying in the village, there is also a bus that runs into downtown. Last season it was $3 each way.

Wish I was going to be there, I could show you around a little. Wonderful place. Lots to see and do besides skiing and riding.
