  1. Yeah, sometimes the quality of the grooming has more to do with who does it than anything else.

Here in Central Oregon most everybody goes to Mt. Bachelor and looks down on little Hoodoo but the grooming at Hoodoo is way better than Bachelor. Often at Bachelor the edges from the tiller don't match up and the grooming is sloppy in general.

The grooming at Hoodoo, more often than not, is beautiful and clean. I remember pulling a long heelside carve in a wide spot and looking out over the piste. The grooming was so smooth all the way across that I could have picked any direction and not even needed to look at the surface of the snow.

Like waterskiing on glass. That's the stuff dreams are made of.

  3. Hi Bryan,

    Hi Evan,

In addition to training and testing equipment next week, I'm sure Chris and Tyler will be at Bachelor for the NorAm event on Thursday and Friday (February 4th & 5th).

Here's the event info from mtbachelor.com:

Hey Don, thanks for the tip! I gotta go up there and check that out. Now, how to fit it into the work day and get out from in front of this damn computer...

  4. SOLD

These measurements are by my own hand so might not be perfect. And I don't know the sidecut radius.

    waist 18.8

    tip/tail 24.0

    effective edge 142.5

This board has seen some years but is in decent shape. It has a recent edge sharpen, base grind and structure. Base is nice and smooth but repairs can be seen. Edges are nice and sharp at 1 degree base, 2 degree side but the edges are somewhat thin due to sharpening over time.

There is no delamming anywhere. There are hairline cracks in the topsheet in the tip and there are some chips out of the topsheet on the edges. The chips in the edges are all sealed and the sidewalls look good.

This would be a good starter board for somebody. This was my wife's board. I have not ridden it.

    $50 + shipping

I've shipped boards before and can assure you I will build a good box. Or, if you happen to be in Central Oregon we can arrange to meet.

  5. SOLD - Thanks Ronin42!

See image below for Burton's spec sheet.

This board is in excellent shape, has been ridden five times and has been well cared for. It has a factory 1 degree base and 1 degree side tune. It is a great all mountain directional shape that is very rideable and has a nice turn to it. From what I understand the Omen was based on the very memorable Supermodel. It would make a great powder board. It's just not stiff enough for me but I weigh in at 250.

  6. I have an old Burton Supermodel that I loved (it's a rock board now) but I, for one, can't imagine buying another Burton board because of the new binding system.

The other day, I did ride for a bit with a freestyler that rode pretty aggressively and he had a board with the new binding system. He said he really liked it. He said it was easy to change the binding setup and that it felt "bomber".
