  1. FYI - This board has been sold, thanks for your interest! Life' s short - ride long
  2. Hey Bob, While I am not familiar with the Burton Amp, your growth plan sounds the same as mine was, going from a 162 Alp, to a 166 Coil (all mountain) to the RT168. It is a plan that has paid off in spades for me this year going to the 186 WCR. Arrival is a wonderful thing. I will place you as second in line, if party #1 does not buy this board. Thanks for you interest, in my board, and in the sport! Al
  3. Hey Bob, Yes, the board is still available, with one party now first in line. I would tend to say the the Renn Tiger GS's are not quite entry level, as the are fairly rigid and somewhat unforgiving for a novice, that's where the spped and stability come from. I was able to make peace with it fairly quickly, but I had a few years under my belt. There is a Renn model that was made that year that is a little softer, same basic dimensions, but I don't recall the suffix code. Also at 185 lbs, when you feel ready for a GS race board, you might want to go a little longer 172 or ??? I am 175 lbs, and am now on a 186 WCR, and I like it alot, well after the curve, that is. Good Luck!
  4. Slim requested that the specs be posted, they have not changed from the later RT###GS models: Overall Length 168 cm Effective Edge 149.5 cm Side Cut Radius 10.9 M Nose Width 24.3 cm Center Width 19 cm Tail Width 23.8 cm Sandwich construction with titanium rails, inlaid aluminum tip and tail protectors, and 3-D sidecut with rubber dampening. This model set World snowboard speed record.
  5. Sorry BlueB, I have a freshly filled quiver, set for life with the last two boards I ever plan to buy....yeah right. Good Luck! Al
  6. Forumites, I have a 2004 Volkl RT168GS for sale, no bindings. It is in great shape, has been rode ~ 20 times last year and 4 this year which in Wisconsin is less than 20,000 feet total. Top sheet has a few nicks and scratches, but is still an eye catcher, bottom is sweet. It has had two tunes total, plenty of life left in this fine board for many years of carving / racing pleasure. Asking $150, will consider any reasonable offers, shipping paid by buyer. I can take some photos if requested. Must sell, just ordered a new 'Pow Stick' Life's short, ride long!
  7. Hello Community, I have a Brewing conference in Seattle, in April, ahead of which I am tyring to put tegethor snow sports outing. Being the weekend of 4/8-9, and being a weekend, I am trying to get some idea as to the best all around options for snow, accessability, local lodging, decent Apres ski, with minimum lift line / crowd issues. Selfeshly insterested in throwing down some turns while there. From what I am reading, snow may be the biggest challenge, any feedback would be greatly appreciated. AL-G

  9. Being a cross over carver, I have been gaper bashing since the 80's, but I find it much more entertaining now, laying down the lumber for the slack-jawed awestruck wannabe's, keeping safety in mind of course. I have pulled up probably as often as I left the ditch behind....keeping in mind that the clueless aren't exactly predictable.
