  1. Just to give you my 2 cents being a boardercross racer who is getting into more HP and SS. Hard boot set ups are good for racing, but like you said...it's expensive. My suggestion is this: 2 boards, 1 boot, 1 binding. 1 board for SBX, SL & GS and then another for HP & SS. As for boots, go with a Salomon F boot like the F22. It's stiff enough for racing but yet you can loosen the laces up for freestyle. I have had the Malamutes in the past, but they are bit heavy. The F boots are lighter. A good binding would be the C60 from Burton and you can always find a great deal on last years models online. The Union Force MC is also a good binding. Super stiff and super lightweight. As for the boards, for the race board you will have to go with something around 26 to 27 cm waist. There is now way around it. I have sz 13 boots as well and it is just the fact of the matter. I carve very aggressively so I even use palmer 10mm riser plates. It is rare when I boot out. I remember back in 2005 USASA nationals I beat out a ton of hardbooters racing in softies and a stiff freeride board in Open GS. I finished 10th. As for being slow edge to edge, just get your kid in some weight training and he will be able to throw it around with the best of them. You can find really good boards these days for racing. For something lesser priced, Never Summer Titan TX, Nitro Pantera Wide, Burton T6 164 wide, Nidecker Platinum XL. These you can find a good year end deal. However, none of them really have a "race base" or "racing flex" per say. All are fast bases, stiff boards, and fast but none are SUPER fast for racing. If you have a few extras to spend, look at the F2 Eliminator wides, SG Cross Pro Team or the Apex Pro +165. All are 26+ waste width and super fast BX specific boards. For freestyle boards, I have been riding Ride boards for years and never broke one yet. All you really need is something wide enough and soft enough for jibbing and jumps. It will also work for pipe. I hope this helps!
  2. The price just dropped to $210 for the board OR $285 w/ bindings. Any takers?
  3. How about $180 for the board OR $250 for board and bindings?
  4. Will anyone take these off my hands for $80? This is a nice high heel cup for softy carving.
  5. I'm out. I need a wider board. Thanks for the reply!
  6. I am interested. What is the price and what are the specs including waist width?
  7. Head PX10 Bindings 2008 Model Sz Large for boot sizes 10-14 Soft Boot binders Almost like new. There is nothing wrong w/ them at all. Great binding for soft boot carving. Asking $100. They retail for $279. I had a hook up w/ Head last year and don't need these bindings anymore. These are the most customizable pair of bindings I have ever had. See pics below.
  8. Never Summer Titan TX 165 2008 Model 26.8 Waist 8.9/9.7/7.6 waist <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> The board is in pretty good condition. Ridden 9 times. Once was out west and it has a very minor dent from a rock in the edge, but no crack. Also, a few scrapes in the base, but definitely no core shots. These boards are built to last. I am selling because I don’t need 4 snowboards. The board is stiff and rockets you out of the turn because of the progressive sidecut. <o:p></o:p> Asking price $200 for just the board. $290 would get you the Never Summer board and a great pair of 2008 Head PX10 Bindings. These bindings are in great condition. I just don’t need another pair of bindings right now. <o:p></o:p> See pics below.
  9. Prior MFR 168 Wide 2006 model 26.1 cm Waist 10 m radius <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> The board is in excellent condition. Base only has a few very minor scratches and the edges are set at 1 degree bevel. I used to use it for boardercross, then it turned into a powder board and now it is for sale. <o:p></o:p> Asking price $250 for just the board. $340 would get you the Prior board and a great pair of 2008 Head PX10 Bindings. These bindings are in great condition. I just don’t need another pair of bindings right now. <o:p></o:p> See pics below.
  10. Well, I found an awesome deal on the Burton T6 164 wide and went with that. However, I think you Lib Tech lovers out there sold me on getting a Magna Traction board for my next freestyle deck! Thanks for the help, guys!
  11. Do the Custom X 164 and the T6 ride similar? Which is stiffer? I saw the guy who won 3rd place at the X-Games BX was on a Custom X.
  12. Here is my dilemma. I am riding a Never Summer Titan right now and it has a great sidecut, but a slow base and it is a tank. I like the weight and the fast base of the T6. Lib Tech's are just plain fun boards to ride. I had 1 many moons ago and it was awesome. However, it doesn't have a fast base. Nidecker's are great boards and a fast base. The Capita is a nice stiff board and the length to contact ratio is perfect like the Burton's, but it has a lower grade base as well. I have sz. 13 boots so all 4 of these boards come in a wide. That is why I have pinpointed these 4 rides. I am also throwing the Nitro Pantera LS in the mix, but those are hard to find.
  13. Yeah, I have a friend that swears by the Nideckers of old and he has a backup for his backup for his backup. They have cheapend up a few things. Thanks for the feedback. Anyone else have anything to ad?
  14. Has anyone riden any of these boards: - Burton T6 - Nidecker Platinum - Lib Tech Dark Series MTX - Capita Black Death Inc I am looking for something a little different than what I have now and want something lighter and faster for soft boot carving. I am just looking for some feedback on any of these boards regarding edge hold, speed, overall performance, durability, etc. Any feedback will help. Thanks.
  15. All this talk & no mention of Palmer? Please remember that the Palm Daddy currently is still ripping through SBX courses around the world. Also, I remember a time when he was ruling halfpipes everywhere as well. Not to mention when he and Brushie tried making the finals at the US Open halfpipe a few years back. Looking outside of the snowboard realm and you have his accomplishments in Snow Cross, Mtn Biking, Skiing, partying, living on the edge, big mtn riding, and the list goes on and on and on. He gets my vote for male and Lindsay Jacobellis for female.
  16. Is this still available? How much are you asking for this?
  17. No. I was able to send it back to company I bought it from for a full refund. I just wish I had that same board back.
  18. Has anyone here ever ridden the Never Summer Titan or the Titan TX? I have read a few reviews on it and am a little tentative because I am skeptical on the weight of the board if it is that stiff. Can anyone help to shed some light on this board? Thanks.
  19. Does anyone know where I could get a 2008 Nitro Pantera RS 166? I had one and a skier hit me and it broke. I want another because this board absolutely rips. Thanks.
  20. Check out Prior MFR 172 Custom Boardercross Machine For Sale in the FOR SALE section of this message board. I am selling this board & if this is too stiff, I might be willing to part with my Prior MFR 168 stock board.
  21. I have a pair of Saloman Malamutes from 2005 and a pair from 2004 that might be right up your alley. I also have a few pair of Burton XL pants that might work. Let me know if you are still interested & I will get some prices together and some photo's.
  22. :AR15firinThis is simple. I am done Boardercross racing and am selling my stick. I worked w/ Prior at the beginning of the 2007 season and had him customize an MFR 172 for racing. Here are the specs: Length 172 Effective Edge 131 Pintail design Waist Width 26.3 Radius 10.5 Quadraxle Glass Weave A much stiffer flex than the stock MFR Graphite Base This was my race board so I only rode it maybe 15 days. If you want to rip and go fast, this board is it! I paid $900 normal and will part with it for $400 and I will include shipping. Here are some pics.
  23. I personally would like to see lots of the MN folk swing to Tyrol this weekend for the banked slalom. It is only $10. I spoke w/ the owner of Focus this last weekend for quite some time on how he wanted to dial in the course and $trider was right, it is using the BX course currently built and adding more banked turns. It sounds like it should be pretty fun. He is trying to make it a similar feel as the Mt Baker Banked Slalom. As for prizes, I know he was making some tropies and I believe there will be some prizes/gear as well. No cash will be handed out. The more people that show, the more often Focus will put on contests like this. I myself would like to see someone put on a BX race with a cash purse in the Midwest.
