peter_x
I was wondering if anyone has a problem with rusted inserts. Twice now with a new board I took it out one day and left it for a day and a half without removing the bindings, and I got a little surface rust on the inserts. My Alp got rust in the bottom of each insert, even the ones that had screws. On my Speed, I left the board against a wall and the bottom half of 2 open inserts, where the water would collect, got rust. Are you people in the habit of removing your bindings after each session? I don't know if screwing them tighter makes a seal, I don't really screw them down tight right now.
Steve Dold
I've never seen rust on inserts. I don't take my bindings off every time, not even close. The only time I've ever seen anything like this was when I left a board in a waterproof board bag, wet, all summer. The inserts looked corroded and there were bumps, not dimples, on the base where the inserts were.
Chris Houghton
I agree, sounds like the bolts you used are not stainless, and they are staining the inserts.
