Recommended Posts

Hey im just starting up carving this year (transfered from freeride) and i was dissapointed when my HUGE ski boots didnt fit into my newly arrived race plates. Im looking for some decent boots for no more than $130 CAD, slightly felxible though. They are size 30.5 or 31 (12.5-13)

Thanks in advance, help me get riding !

best to get an exact mondo size for both feet. if you find something with moldable liners you might be able to squeeze into a 30 or even a 29.

shameless cross reference: I have moldable liners that will fit your foot for only $20. see the conform'ables thread here in the classifieds

Alright, well for an exact size 29.5-30.5 is good

as for shell sole length no more than 340mm

and id like to jump at the idea of moldable boot liners but i have no clue on how the whole boot fitting process works so i would rather have something right out of the box.

thanks for the suggestion though

29.5 to 30.5 isnt quite exact. thats a whole centimeter difference in size

do you have a ski shop near you? if so, just have them measure your foot. itll take only a minute. do both feet.

if you can get into a 29, youll be happier as long as they fit.

as for molding liners, it can be done at home. yyzcanuck site has instructions, so does bomber site, and alpinecarving.com

it will behoove you to get an exact foot size, not an "about"

I still say go to a ski shop if you have one nearby. that paper measurement can be inaccurate.

getting the correct size boot is paramount!

but odds are you can fit into a 29 with moldable liners. I measure just shy of 28...like 27.8 on one foot and 27.7 on the other, and wear "27" boots...the moldable liners allows for leeway

Check out the pair of SB413's I've got listed in another thread. They're great boots in essentially brand new condition for close to what you're looking to spend. They would probably work fairly well for you since they tend to have a slightly softer flex for a hard boot, and a softer flex will probably help you learn to ride quicker. Let me know if you're interested and maybe we can work something out.
