Guest Pre School Rider
JLM 27,you are right on about the size of obstacles-Start Small, work it on up. You don't want to put a student in a place where the terrain exceeds their confidence or skills. Your job (or rather part of it) is to make assesments of the student's ability, and then find the terrain that suits them.also, your job is to improve their riding, teach them how to go about riding safely on the hill. So,in that light,I cannot fathom why you'd a rider keep making turns that swish the tail, especially if they want to ride the park or pipe. If you teach good turns,it's going to allow a greater range of future possibilities for that rider. I hope the next time you instruct, you'll keep an eye out for how well your charge ride overall, not just how well they hop up onto a rail. The whole mountain is The Playground, and the better a rider can manuver and control their board, the easier it'll be for them to deal with freestyle-oriented riding. If you get AASI's Pro-Rider,take note of Bud Keene's thoughts on this.
