Guest vaguelyevilguy
Burton has these on their flagship freeride board, the T6. They claim that they are rust-proof. Are there other board makers that use them as well? Are there any disadvantages to them? Is stainless steel really so expensive that it only goes on $650 boards? D-Sub
and they seem to never tune their boards, either, so an edge that doesnt rust would be good for them. I want titanium edges;)
Chris Houghton
Nah, forget titanium, the best edges would be Solingen stainless cutlery steel, or Sheffield steel. Something that is high in carbon but still ductile enough to hold a nice sharp edge. Jibbers should use half round edge stock, not square. This will prevent them from catching an edge at an inopportune moment.
D-Sub
ok, I want solingen then! ;)
Guest Randy S.
I want Ginzu. What's wrong with steel edges? Seems to work fine. Mine never rust. I just take care of them. Jibbers drag their boards across the pavement in the parking lot. Obviously they care a lot about their edges.
Chris Houghton
Call Sean and see if he can add it to the options list. Oh wait, that's German steel. Have to go to Virus I guess, or F2 maybe.
