patmoore Posted October 25, 2012 Report Share Posted October 25, 2012 My wife and I were in NYC this past Monday to celebrate her 60th. I had written Al Roker several months ago and asked him if he'd do a huge favor for an old NBC affiliate weatherman and wish Penny a happy birthday on the Today Show. We joined the crowd outside the show and I caught his attention in the studio during a commercial break. I held up my sign that said "My Child Bride Just Turned 60!" and he gave me a thumbs up. At 7:36 he headed over for us to wish her Happy Birthday and we got it on . I then got a huge thrill when I discovered that one of the morning guests was Felix Baumgartner. I had been glued to the Discovery Channel a couple of weeks ago during his record setting freefall from 24 miles up. I managed to get his attention and we chatted for a few minutes.
