OhD
Sunday was one of the best days of the season. Grooming was done early, before Saturday's snow got crusty, so there weren't a lot of chunks and cookies frozen onto the cord in the morning. The breeze kept the temperature low most of the day in spite of nearly cloudless sky, so the snow stayed firm and fast everywhere until mid-afternoon, and the upper runs were still sound at 3. The crowd was light and mostly pretty competent (apart from a couple of skiers I encountered who didn't seem to comprehend that one should be moving away from a merging trail, not toward it - much less turning UP it ). The groomers have had plenty of snow to work with and plenty of time to get it right. The runs they groom regularly were in beautiful condition. Looks like it's raining today and forecast is for alternating rain/snow through the week. The resort will be open weekends only through May 5/6.
