Ian M
Aha! I knew I'd get you with that 'trivia' word :D. I remember a while ago seeing great old-school footage of hard-boot carving in one or more vintage Warren Miller movies. (You know, the old ones that were fun?) Can anyone name which movie(s) that footage might be in? Handy IMDB link: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0589498/ Thanks for the help!

Check with Mr Firestone at http://www.alpinecarving.com/warren/ He has gone to allot of effort to document early videos that contained alpine riders. Ian M
Wow... very well documented! Great link, guys. I'm disappointed that those sequences were longer in my memory. :(
Jack M
There is also some fun to watch, though dated, carving in the Burton movies Snowrules, Chill, Board With the World, Hear No Evil, and Scream of Consciousness. Chill is the origin of the Jean Nerva quote "Carving... you carve you carve you carve you carve, and you cannot slide, even if it's icy." Warren Miller borrowed that footage in Tweaked and Twisted. Ian M
Thanks Jack, those look more promising than the WM stuff. I'm working on some downloads! Cheers :D
Jack M
Technically the carving in Board With The World is in a little sub-movie at the end called Pachemama, by P&J. Your download may or may not include that. Even if it doesn't, BWTW still has beautiful freeriding by the one and only CK.
