Enzo
I headed up to Loon this morning for a few runs. The Quad was running and Picked Rock was the only trail open. Conditions were fairly decent for this time of year. Most of the trail was packed loose granular. Coverage was fair in the middle of the trail, but thin on the sides. There were no exposed rocks so my base survived the outing. By about 10:00 the upper part of the trail was still in pretty good shape, but the lower part of Picked Rock had a lot of soft snow that had been pushed around so it was less consistent. No lift lines to speak of, but as the morning wore on the trail had some traffic. If my legs can handle it, I may cruise up again tomorrow morning for a few more runs hoping to chip off the early-season rust. If you're thinking about heading up and don't have a pass, you may want to consider this--Loon is charging $45 for a lift ticket!!! ps. Waterville opened today as well...but only High Country is open so you have to upload/dowload from there.
