bjvircks
I posted this in the 'want to buy' section but thought I'd get higher visibility and a better chance of success posting here too. I want to buy a pair of beat up moldable liners that have a little moldability left in them for a small project. I'm trying to get a pair of inline skates to fit my ankles better and want to try adding patches of thermo-molding stuff. A lot of midrange and higher racing skates are built with heat moldable sections but the cheapy boots I picked up recently are not moldable. The rest of the boot fits my foot fine... I just want to take up a little bit of extra room between the stiff carbon composite shell and my ankle bones. My plan is to cut a piece of liner to fit only the ankle wrap portion of each boot so a cheap beat up pair of liners is all I need. Anybody got anyhing they'd like to get rid of before the season starts?
D.T.
I think I still have my old liners. I'll check tonight when I get home. If I find them, they are yours.
D.T.
Sorry bj, apparently I threw them out when I sold my old shells. :o I'll let you know if I find them.
bjvircks
Thanks for the update. Too bad, but thanks. I'm also going to try a layer or 2 of a high density packing foam sheet I found in the recycling at work. The trick for me will be to keep the filler in place within the boot when I put my foot in. Getting the heel in is a tight fit with nothing there.
