Hey you slalom geeks (WC, Gecko, etc)

Here's a slalom vid from our get together on the last day of big bear.

skip to 3:30 for slalom, and skip to 5 minutes for some more difficult stuff.

what do you think?

Looks like the last part of the vid was too tight... Just like the tight slalom course you set up for us yesterday at 5 and 3/4 spacing... haha

Yesterday's hybrid course was better than the big bear course IMO.

I think our slalom courses are pretty weak, compared to what i've seen out there - that's mainly due to the limits of what the riders can clear *cough*me*cough* haha

Edit: looked into it more

Tight slalom WBs are 18"-19.5"

The tightest wheel base on that Axe 2.5 is 20.5"-22.75" (after my re-drill). The board your dad made me went from 20.5" to 24" - that's mostly Hybrid territory right there. 5.5 feet and 5.75 feet spacing isn't gonna work (at least not for me... hehe).

Take all of this with a grain of salt... I'm by no means a slalom expert, but I like to pretend to be one.

As you've already said, you'll all do better with dedicated slalom setups, but it looks like your having fun as it is.

Who's that in the red long-sleeve riding the dropped board? I'm impressed that you can stuff that thing through cones that well... :)

And the blue shirt with the hat riding the Axe? (First, get a helmet...) Second, bend yer knees, and get your upper body into it....

Yeah, I forgot all my safety stuff that day, helmet, slide gloves, everything.

When it's easy like what was in that video, i can get away without really getting into it, but when i'm running TS with 5.75' cone spacing, i'm thinking about my stance more, and about what can I do to NOT hit a cone. :o
