BobD
That's maybe one of the freakiest accidents I have ever heard about http://www.durangoherald.com/sections/News/2010/01/18/Telluride_skier_dies_in_heliskiing_accident/ In twenty five years of white water kayaking, I hadn't heard of this type of entrapment, and I've done a lot of swift water rescue stuff. We all wear helmets on whitewater, and that this should happen to a skier is mind blowing. BobD
SnowNBeachAddict
Yes, this was a VERY TRAGIC FREAK ACCIDENT:( Unfortunately the article is (as are others) incorrect. She was snowboarding when this happened, NOT skiing. Unfortunately I happen to know a bit about what happened. Her fiance happens to be my ex husband. She was a hard booter as is my ex husband. He is devastated. Please say a prayer for her family and my ex husband. If anyone wishes to send condolences please PM me direct and I can supply instructions. Thanks

www.oldsnowboards.com
Tragic indeed. There have been a number of skier/snowboarder "Drownings" in the Pacific Northwest in the mountains. I almost joined them a few years ago. Terrifing This report has her correctly identified as a snowboarder. http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/22264086/detail.html
