TD2s bail springs?

Silly question:

With smaller boot sizes it is required that toe and heel blocks are reverted. Now, with reverted heel block, the spring in the bail wants to load by extension instead of compression, which causes more friction. Are the positive and negative coiled springs in existence, or one just have to accept more friction?
