  1. Not hard to figure out: The Prisoner :p (It's from the 60's)

    My favorite TV show.

"Back in the Village" from Iron Maiden is also about the Prisoner.

Awesome! The Prisoner is my favorte TV show too! (or at least one of my favs)

  2. They still have a decent snowboard line as well. I know the local rep as well as several guys who swear by those boards.

Yeah, they also make a great hardboot

but seriously Head skis kick ass. I'm really not a big fan of Atomics. Volkl and Head are consistantly my favorites when I demo skis.

  3. the boots are a 27 so you'd probably fit but they might be a bit roomy. Does your foot measure 26.5 exactly or are you rounding down to your size? becuase my foot is about 26.8 and these boots fit me perfectly.

  4. I have a pair of size 27 Raichle SB222's, they're in good shape, been ridden about 10 times and they're in great shape and are perfect for a beginner, lightweight carver or anyone wanting a soft hardboot. $90.

  5. Any suggestions for Freeriding 3 buckle hardboots. Looking for a 27 or 27.5 something similar to a Raichle 123, or if you have a Raichle 123 you're willing to part with. We need these boots to be very flexible, as we're using them for freeriding and in the bumps.

    Thanks

    Fischer

I have some Raichle SB222's in a 27, they are super soft 3 buckle boots

  6. No don't sit back, Ride neutral. If you have a good wax job, you'll go fast. If you watched that race closely, he would move faster in the corners than he was on the flat sections. Bad wax job lost him that race.

That maybe true, a bad wax job will screw you and leaning back might not make up for it but if you have a good wax job and are going fast leaning back will make you go faster, when you're in a race on the straights where you can sacrifice a little bit of balance why bother being even on the board? leaning can give you an extra push.

  7. Busting a move in the biggest race of your life = putting fun above winning = highly respectable in and of itself. The press is just beating her up over this, which I think is just plain stupid. It cost her a notch on the podium but she did things her way, she reached for a little extra joy... she broke the mold, and for that I salute her.

It's a bummer that it cost her the gold, but she's still bringing home a medal! :)

That chick rocks. I hope she comes back in 2010, hucks a rodeo on the final jump, and finishes the race switch.

You're joking right! Yes fun is above results but when you're 200ft ahed and have the gold sealed why risk throwing it all away so you can look cool. She took a stupid risk and she screwed up bad, after all that training and preperation and fighting her way through the quarterfinal and simifinal she threw it away. One commentator summed it up, she didn't win silver she lost gold. What she did wasn't putting fun before racing it was just being arrogant. It's not over 'til it's over. She's a great snowboarder but that end was hard to watch.

  8. Guys, I need some liquidation of ignorance... What's up with these tele-skis? What's the idea behind it?

Telemark is great for backcountry becuase with climbing skins the free heel allows you to climb up the hill and a good telemark turn has more stability. In a resort it's just another fun way to get down the hill.

  9. Nice pics. I have a quick question. How much does the tounge flex on the indys? (Just the tounge on it's own) not the stock RAB or the BTS with blue springs) I'm a lightweight (140lbs) and I'm thinking of gettting some new boots next season. I'm just wondering if the indy's with the yellow BTS springs would work for somebody as light as me. I'm just wondering if the boot tounge would be so stiff as to limit the forward flex becuase the boots designed for heavier guys.

  10. I wouldn't get the Swoard. From what I've read it's really only worth the $900-$950 if you're going to be doing nothing but extremecarving and that it's only a decent board and not worth the price for "normal" carving. Again I've never even seen one in person let alone ridden one, but that's what I've hard. Also $900 is a lot of money to spend on a board especially when for $400 you can get that Donek.

  11. but true race stock skis are ususally not with a few exceptions now as far as skis in the shop that you might go to probably 99% of them are cap constuction this is because your average skier is not that demanding of a customer, they usually just want some shiny doohickies that are glued onto the topsheet and some catch phrases like X-treme chrome edges Vibraride torsion system

I wouldn't say %99 of retail skis are cap. Go to almost any ski store and you'll find at least one sidewall/sandwitch sk sometimes two or threei, but you are right the vast majority of retail skis are cap. Snowboards seem to be more balanced between the two constructions.
