please let me know this week if you need lodging. i will be deciding yea or neigh on a house for out-of-towner-carvers monday morning 12jan. so far i have one couple interested. if we are 8 guests for three nights it would come to about $130/person.

for those of you nearer to central NY...come on out! joerg from switzerland, ray from cleveland and dan from montreal will be the pure boarding talent joining us. demos, clinics, reduced lift tickets, first tracks, closed off runs, etc...

joerg egli and ray pesho will be the star-attractions again this year at togg and lab in central new york. dan lambert will be there as well from montreal. if you are planning on attending, please do rsvp with me so that i can get you on our list (demo rsvp's get first priority treatment for gear) and get a sense of numbers/attendees. if you need lodging, let me know this week as i will be deciding whether or not to secure the log cabin we rented last year or not. so far i have 2, maybe 4 guests. with 8 people for three nights...it would come to about $130 per person. otherwise you are are on your own with finding lodging. lift tickets will be discounted at $30/day. first tracks every morning! closed off runs!

i only know of one attendee (from oyster bay), but he is joining us for the whole weekend. let me know if you want me to put you in touch with him. otherwise, YES, lab is a GREAT mtn for carving! the owner is a carver...he runs the groomer too! he will try to close off a run for us. GET OUT HERE!

in search of burton cant plates or riser plates...do not have to be 'burton' but have both 3- and 4-hole center pucks. not picky on type or condition. looking to increase hardware for carving session with demo offerings that i am hosting this weekend (i know, maybe pushing it a bit with timing). please call me to discuss (617.990.4587) offerings, pricing a, and shipping. thanks in advance!

here is some general info:
DEMO GEAR: we will do everything we can to accommodate all interested attendees. we DO though have limited quantities of demo gear (boot sizes range from; mondo 25-30.5 =men's 6-13 =women's 7-13). we will be giving priority assignments to those who have pre-registered. even with pre-registration, it's first-come- -first-served! thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
COSTS: lift tickets will be discounted at $30/day (thank you TOG and LAB!). just tell them you are with 'pure boarding' at the ticket window. demo gear rental will be the same as last year at $25/day (this cost helps offset joerg's travel and use of his gear - - sometimes brand new). clinics and lessons will be FREE!
CHECK-IN/SET-UP TIME: 10:30
FIRST TRACKS: 8:00am each morning for those of you with your own gear. arrangements have been made for lift operators to be running a lift an hour before normal opening time! show your thanks and respect to the early start by being in line at 8 SHARP (get to the mtns early)!
TOG (fr): we will be upstairs on the mezzanine
LAB (sa/su): we will be in the 'mini lodge' both days
safe travels, contact me (christian) anytime if you have any further questions (see flier for phone and email)

great, dave! would be great to ride with you again (we met many years ago in aspen...pure carve days, no?). please DO let me know though should you plan on attending as i have my finger on the trigger for house(s) to rent. will not pull the trigger until i know for sure i have enough people to make it affordable.

in your upcoming issue, my brother and i would love to get a story in about our fellow carver richard spector, 'the general', as we lovingly call him (even though he was a mere low-ranking marine grunt) . BUT, he spent some 32(?) days on iwo jima!!! AND at 86 going on 87 this year...he's still carving - - beautifully and smooth! he learned at 60! i'm sure you've seen him, if not already met him...he's been to many many sesions in aspen. look for him this year (not sure if he's planning on attending the actual session or not, but i know he wants to make a couple trips there this season). i KNOW he will not want the attention, but how can we let a story like this pass our carving world up!? he's a huge inspiration, a model citizen and person, a hero (in a way)...the greatest generation, and all around just am amazing guy...our adopted grandfather.
scott and pitched this to snowboard life years back (or transworld snowboarding...i forget), but they had absolutley no interest (still don't get that!?)
give me your thoughts on how this might happen...what a deadline may be. how many words/pages we may have to work with...

not to take anything away from those 'competitors' (which is awesome...I agree and wish to be riding at that age too)...BUT - - - "the General", Richard Spector, takes the cake! He does not 'compete', but Dick will be 87 this year!!! Many of you know him from the Aspen Sessions. He will be out there a couple times this season (2013). If you see him, say hi, congratulate him on his decision to finally 'retire' (slowly over the next 2-3 years) from his law practice in Chicago. RIDE ON Dick, you are an inspiration to us all!!
