  1. Amid all the twists, turns, and tangents of this string, there should be enough kernels of enlightenment to help you on your way.

The season's ending, and the adjustment's gonna be slow and rough. Spirits will rise, and attitudes will (probably) soften as the summer carve pursuits kick in. Then in August/September, look out! Add the Dog Days to Election Year rhetoric, and this place should be very interesting. Through it all, however, there's a huge amount of knowledge and experience hereabouts.

And finally, come late September or early October, maybe, someone will announce the first tracks of 08/09, and most of the year's slights will fade away with the new snowfalls.

Here's to your unfolding adventure, and

    Have Fun!

    Very well said.

I'm blocking Bomber on my router during election time. :p

  2. I have three free lifts at CB from my Angel Fire pass so no biggie on that. I'll look up lodging in Gunnison, if not I guess we'll head back to Salida. Speaking of which how far is CB from Salida exactly?

As far as runs I'd be looking for steep AND wide. Normally I don't have many issues finding the primo carving runs. ;)

Well I'll be there with two softbooters in tow. If you want to meet up that would be great. It sounds like the conditions are still good so I'll bring the Coiler.

  3. NewCarver? TPalka? What are the conditions like up there? Any favorite carving runs, etc?

I went to Angel Fire yesterday and it was a slush fest. Super icy in the morning too! Coverage was getting quite thin and some runs were already showing grass/rocks. It was expected since it was their last day but I didn't think it would be gone as fast as it went...

So would it be worth it to drive up to CB to ride this Sat and Sun? It looks like it's a little over six hours!

Let me know what you think. As of now we are planning on going...

Also would like some recommendations on hotels as we'll need one for Saturday night. Something on the cheaper side is always nice, but I'd like to have WiFi if possible. Also be able to tolerate three rowdy guys! ;)

Lastly any reommendations on places to eat dinner Saturday night.

    TIA

  4. I just watched your second video and that toe block is way too loose.

It looks like you have the toe block moved all the way back, so it might not adjust any further back? If that is the case you need to move the heel block back a notch or two then move the toe block forward some so you can adjust it both forward and back (to fine tune it).

If there is no adjustment possible then you have the wrong sized bindings. Perhaps you bought the Large version and your boots are too small?

According to hardbooter.com on the Carve RS model:

    Medium < 27.5 MP

    Large > 26.5 MP

If you are outside of that range then it'll never work right.

    Let us know...

  5. Hey,

I was thinking about this earlier and I had two random thoughts:

    1) Did you adjust the front (toe) piece with the phillips screw that's on the front of the binding? You are right the Titanflex doesn't have a micro-adjust, but you can adjust the toe block with that phillips screw. Set your Intec heel then "micro-adjust" using that screw. Forgive me if this is a "captain obvious" situation, but I figured it might have been overlooked.

Not having the micro adjust on the bail itself is a good thing IMHO as I've heard the micro adjusters on the titanium model loosens over time? I can't verify this but I remember reading it online somewhere when I was purchasing my Titanflex.

    2) Make sure you have equal cant/lift on both heel and toe blocks. Again a random thought but if they weren't the same it would create a bunch of slop in the system.

I hope this helps, otherwise sorry. :(

  6. Hey folks!

    Feedback is appreciated!

I also have the 51MB full rez .wmv but I'm looking for a host.

    Enjoy!

  7. Yeah we lost you quick! Not sure how? No worries as the day was almost over anyways.

You going to be at AF this Sunday for closing day? I think it'll be quite empty...

Going to put the summer wax on the Coiler but I'll be on the Hooger for the slush.

  8. Hey RDY- Where in OK? I'm from there too and ride AF and NM each year.

My parents live in Edmond and I just got back to ABQ. Sheesh it's friggin HOT here! Two weeks left in the season...last weekend coming up for Angel Fire. :(

Ugh I hate it when the season is almost over.

Just rode the Loaded Pintail down to the mailbox. I guess it's time to hit the ditches...

  9. I posted a review in the "Taos Invasion" thread below...it's still on the first page here in this sub-forum...

I'm already wanting to go back but I'm going to wait till next season. Only a few more weeks and things will be wrapping up down here anyways...
