  1. Can't get used to it - either the VSR or the width is messing with my mind, so it'll be listed for sale shortly but you and BlueB get first crack at it. I paid $400 plus shipping which I think was a very fair price, given its condition, and I'd sell for $400 shipped. Let me know if you need any additional info or pix. Best, Jonny

    whats your email??

  2. Tonight was so "Aspen Cougar" it was off the charts... A benefit for the Art Museum

$200-$350 a ticket open bar. I volunteered to help with the silent auction- but couldn't find the supervisor in the endless sea of people- they didn't tell me to wear black... Blah blublah bluhblah blah....

I'll believe it when you show it to me in person there T.J.

  3. I bought Mr Deere's Chub, and after a couple of days on it I think it's just wider than I like. Ride is incredibly smooth - just astonishing - and it rides imo longer than 177 - more like a 183 in fact. Sidecut is 13.2/14.2. Condition is very good with excellent edges and base grind. Let me know if you're still interested. I'm thinking at the moment that something closer to my old 180 Racecarve, but in metal, is going to suit me better.

    im kinda interested

  4. I guess you could say that, maybe just 10% stiffer.

Do you have any specs on it? aside from waist and length?

ITs funny Ive been thinking it about it quite a bit lately and since I still have cash from being screwed over by bordy and Billy, im almost thinking about having a new custom one made.

before I screwed this one up, I actually previously put a layer of Carbon, aluminum, and a pair of titanal wings infront of the front bindings, and it was one of the most fun boards Ive ever ridden, every turn was in the air with out even trying, I felt like Peter Bauer and Jean Nerva:biggthump

  5. do you write romance novels in your spare time? no wait "spy thriller"?

maybe we should give dos equis his name?

I especially like how he includes "I determined roughly when the police barracks shift change was- and used that time to my advantage."

    great dramatic effect!

  6. So I left Aspen, for 17 months. I decide to come back after putting on 25 pounds. I have 7 lbs left to go ...to be back to normal. Within a minute of returning I am at a party for Aspen Snow polo. I meet 2 cute barttenders and there manager friend , all 23-24.

Later that night I meet a stunning german blonde girl who is taking care of the horses, 24 who rips on a snowboard , and rides an Oxcess boardercross deck. She is coming back in February. No relation to the other 3. Tough to , broke her back, was paralyzed, and made. A 100% recovery. We danced and she tore up the dance floor.

    12 hours after I return I am DJ'ing the 2011 Snow Polo World Chamionships ( I DJ'ed it in 2009 too.

I finally get to talk with Nacho Figueras. Nice guy. I played polo for a summer before leaving to coach at Camp Woodward.

One bartender and manager girl have me teach them snowboarding ( conditions were the worst ever) I got them complete set ups for $200 and tossed in a lesson.

I took them out for après ski and they are my new cougar deflectors. I looks like the 3 of us will be roommates along with the other bartender. The manager got a marketing job with KIG ( one of the polo teams that had Nacho F. On it, her job starts in Feb. in DC. ) and the German girl will return in Feb. hopefully to take her place.

We all had fun snowboarding in our 3 matching snow polo jackets. My ankles appear to be healed along with my torn calf.

Very relived now to have body guards again. The cougars here are aggressive. I explained their body guard responsibilities would be the same as the other 2 South African girls and they are cool with it. These girls just graduated from Alabama University. Very polite and also determined snowboarders.

Everyone welcomed me back to Aspen. My best friend has 6 weeks to go for her pregnancy and was the fastest girl snowboarder but can't ride until after the birth ( she is going to get 60 days in). So I'll have to make these other girls good riders quickly. The funniest thing will be our team jackets.

sorry John, but I cant help but be skeptical, Im going to need to video/pics, proof, all this just sounds to fantastic to be true.

(or maybe it is all one big joke and it not obvious to me? )

  7. I guess that is the liberal version...

    "The downhill skier...."

".....Im a skier and im going down hill...." :freak3:

"so I have right of way.... yeah of course, duh...."

How about they say "don't hit the people a head of you"

  8. I actualy already have one (purple one) and however I wanted to use it for BX racing, and threw a couple layers of carbon on it, theres more to the story... but bottom line its too stiff and heavy now... But I got it with bindings for $75...

I just remeber that before I modded it, the first day i had it out, it really was surfy like! Just wish there was a modern metal version of it with a little longer edge length.

  9. Donek Blade 170. Stock version is 22.5cm at the waist. Although it's a square tail if that matters.

    Or, http://www.bomberonline.com/store/boards/Swoard.cfm

Or cowboy up and go custom. Coiler, Donek and Prior operators are standing by. You're in a niche with that waist preference.

I think that its weird actually. I mean there used to be many boards in the 225 waist, such as the PJs, F2 El diablo/speedcross and other "freecarve" boards.

What I find odd from the MFG's such as prior donek etc.. most pro riders in GS are riding 200-205 waist, yet the "standard" waist on their production boards is 195.

So there seems to be a shift to +5 to +10mm in width but the more available MFGs aren't following it.

But also can't see spending so much on whats little more than a hardboot version of a freeride board. (when freeride boards go for at little as a couple hundred bucks) especially when you know the board is going to get beat.

You know, I see that Nidecker metal board on bomber, and think if they made a freecarve board similarly and for the same price I'd be interested (and if their GS board was 202-205 waist I'd be interested in that too)

(Ski companies have been using metal in skis since the 60's, you can buy all types of ski with metal in them for reasonable prices(I couldnt care less if its "titanal" or not) So if i got a custom board made then id have to add metal and then the price is just ridiculous.)

Heck maybe I should just take a freeride board thats in the ball park, and use a split board kit to get the width I want!:AR15firin
