  1. Specs are:

172 AllMountain Effective edge: 148 Waist width: 21.5cm Sidecut 10.5m

No this is not an auction - I had no idea how much this board was worth - given the interest, I have a good idea now.

To be fair to everyone, I will post an asking price tomorrow morning at around 8 AM EST (it will be reasonable - I am not interested in pissing people off or being the focus of bad karma). First one to match asking price and pay $25 shipping takes it.

  2. For sale: Coiler 172 All-Mountain w/ 21.5 CM waist:

This board has been used about 5 times and is in near-perfect condition. There is a small impact ding(2.5 CM) on the topsheet near the nose that has been fixed per Bruce from Coilers' instructions. This ding has no impact on the board's performance.

As most of you know, new Coilers are not available until the 2006/2007 season. This is your chance to own the best all-mountain carving board made.

    Serious inquiries only.

  3. GO with the Incline. I ride an older Incline (new one on order) with Catek Freerides and stiff boots. The Incline is a bit more versatile than the Axis - bumps and other stuff will be more fun and you will still be able to lay them out.

Regarding the risers, the Cateks eliminate the need for risers, but I used to use Volkl Power Plates before I got the Cateks. They were great - definately a plus for carving in softies.

    Good luck.

  4. Wondering if anyone has a board they think is the perfect weapon for carving in softies? I have been riding my soft-boots more often than my hard boots over the last few seasons as I really enjoy the versatility and I am not skilled enough to ride bumps with hard-boots (but I am getting good on the bumps in the softies!)

I am looking to add to my quiver and am wondering what boards you all have had success with. I know the Donek Freeride line is excellent, Palmer makes some good stuff (Crown - crazy expensive though) and I keep hearing that Rad-Air rocks. My preference would be for a board between 160 and 170 CM.

    Thanks in advance,

  5. For lateral stiffness, the Catek freerides can't be beat. I added the Burton Capstraps to my setup and it helps even more by pulling the boot more firmly into the heel of the binding.

Boots: I was riding with a pair of 2-year old Salomon Malamutes, but I found the Burton Ion even stiffer. Been on them one day only , so the jury is still out. Burton Driver X's also work. 32 makes some good fitting boots as well.

  6. Why am I selling it? Good question.

Aside from my 2 kids, a stupid work schedule, etc, etc blah blah....I have a Coiler All Mountain and a Donek FreeCarve also sitting in my basement next to the Madd. Although I live on the East Coast, I have been doing about 50% of my riding out West. For whatever reason, seems like the bigger boards make more sense for riding out West.

I have also been riding my softies more - just can't seem to find the time to ride the Madd.

Like I said, I would rather have someone else ride it that have it sit in my basement.

  7. Original Madd 158

This board has only been ridden 5-7 times. It has sat in my basement unused for the last 2 seasons. It is a travesty a board this sick is not being enjoyed by someone.

Aside from a few scratches on the topsheet from bindings, this board is in perfect condition. It has only been tuned by reputable shops.

    Looking for at least $425.

Pictures available via email. Serious inquiries only please. Gjuhlin@optonline.net

  8. I ride a Palmer Carbon Circle when I ride soft boots - great all around board and still very carvable. Has alot of pop. The Catek Freeride set-up is sweet.

Donek is also coming out with their new Phoenix line - same usual super Donek edge hold, but a bit softer with more sidecut that the Incline. Better for bumps and pow.
