Have heard a bit about Sun Peaks from friends

I am an Australian planing to travel to Canada to work for a season in 2014/2015. I just want to know where is a good resort for carving. I have been working/ snow boarding for 2 full seasons here in Australia and this year I plan to try hard booting so basically a beginner. I would be keen for an area where there are other carvers/ instructors whom I might learn proper technique. Any information would be helpful in the planning process.
