Yes, I'm looking forward to Tuesday! Hopefully it will be softer rather than harder, but if it's icy-ish we'll just figure out together how to rock it ;)
Reminder that meeting time is 7pm at the bottom of the main side chair, ready to ride!
Cheers :D
This was the last post I read and without checking I assumed the weather was favorable plus I was in meetings all day and just raced to the hill after work without checking. My bad.
Gilbert and I were waiting at the bottom of the main chair, I guess we'll have to try that another week.
The conditions were very fast and the hill was as hard as a rock, not all bad as we managed to get some great runs.
Hoping to ride with you folks at some point this season.

Sorry Loopback I only just noticed your question about MsM. As of Sunday, conditions were near perfect with most all runs open. I had a surprise visit from my brother Sunday morning and we got some great rides in before the muppets turned the new snow into moggels around noon.
This weekends forecast for rain on Saturday at +3 generally has a good chance of being snow on the hill at MsM. Sunday should/hoping be great.
Looking forward to riding with this gang soon.
My 2 cents...Pak was really good earlier this week and Cascades was pretty good too...not as nice coverage or groom as Pak but not to bad. There were several gravel patches at Cascades too.
I was surprised that Cascades was still blowing snow and had many unopened runs, at least Bogie has an excuse with the fire.
I have heard MSM is in nice shape (maybe PeterV can chime in?)

Peter - Ian lives in Ottawa, so drop him a line and get hooked up before ECES. I think we are riding Cascade on Tuesday (starting next week) so come play before the big event and meet some of us. I think Ottawa might be the best represented area at this years session.
Yes I'm hoping to go on some Tuesday's and My brother may come too, Gilbert's Technic is way better than mine. We are both thrilled that there are other carvers out there, we were beginning to wonder if we were the last. We are also looking forward to ECES, I just need to see how work is before I book.
Thanks

Awesome, I need all the help I can get, besides my brother I have not seen or ridden with other carvers in 5 years and have developed some bad habits that I hope can be corrected.

Thank you Loopback, I am sure the boots will be great. Marry Christmas to Me!

That was very helpful thanks, I must have mistakenly put the front cant angle backwards and had it set as heel lift like the rear. That would explain the awkward feeling I had and all the pressure put on my front quad.
Thanks
One more question, can anyone tell me what my cant angles are if they are about (approx.) 9/16" at the widest?

I recently switched to a different board and it has been a very very long time (15 years) since i changed or adjusted my binding stance and set-up. I forget why I have the cant angles I have or any theory as to why my set-up is the way it is. I was careful to transfer everything the same way I had it on my old board.
It didn't feel quite right on the new board and my front quad was real sore ( having said that it was also the first ride of the year, but I don't ever remember feeling that much before) . The only change is a slightly wider stance of about 5/8". ??? Maybe now is the time to re-look at my set-up and make corrections if needed.
stance about 20".
Burton race plate bindings. (thinking of replacing to TD2's).
Both cant angles are equal facing forward. Nothing on the cant angles tells me the degrees. They both rise about 9/16" each, is that a 3 or a 6 degree?
I have size 29.5 in boots so my angles may be more forward than most, I think I like my stance angles of, Back at 61 degrees, front at 73 degrees.
Does that all sound normal?

Yes that is the board, I drove to Montreal last night. I'll try it on Sunday at MsM. It would be great to see some more carvers at MsM.
Peter V

I have free pass for MSM before Dec20th. I might try and get up Sunday

Hi all I have been carving intermittently for many years, My hill is MsM but would be interested in joining on a week night and get a refresher on Technics. What night are you folks out?
Also looking to upgrade my old Santa Cruz to a nice race board between 175 and 185 for a 205lb rider.
Peter V
I found a new to me board, after way to many years on my old Santa Cruz race board I now have a Prior WCR 181. I just picked it up today and can't wait to try it. Maybe this Sunday at MsM.

Great thanks, My brother and I started carving in I think 1987 and we never went back to ski's, so I called him up to let him know about this event and he's so excited too.
We'll likely be there Thursday and Friday.

I would really like to go but I will likely be in the ending of a big project at work and I may only get a few days off during the week. My question is what would be the best two days, Mon & Tues or Thurs & Fri?
Thanks in advance.
