  1. Thanx for the advice! I'll stick to this board for now. BTW, indeed I prefer focusing on my technique, there's no need for speed. So I'm prepared to make loads of turns due to the relative shortness of the board.
  2. Hi boardmembers, I recently switched from skiing (advanced/expert level) to snowboarding. All is going quite well on the rental boards I used so far, but since carving is absolutely my thing, I need to buy a board myself (rental alpine/carve boards are very hard to find). The rental boards are simply not stiff enough for me, especially at higher speeds. I just got hold of an old board in remarkably good shape. Since it's so old (1992), I'm wondering if missing out on important new innovations in the last 20 years or so will make my learning curve (what's in a name) unnecessary long, or will I be okay for now? Like I said, I'm only interested in carving on prepared slopes, no powder, no tricks. The board is a cambered Nidecker 158 cm (all mountain shape, so slightly curved tail), waist 21 cm, tip 27 cm, tail 26 cm, camber 13mm. I'm 185 cm long and weigh 70 kg. Will this be ok for starting off carving this season or will I be hopelessly dissappointed with this board and should I try something else? You probably noticed budget is an option. The Nidecker was $ 100 including new F2 Carve RS bindings. Thanks for the advice! gr. Henk-Jan
