  1. The video was made by McFussel. Check frozen-backside.de where he is very active or see his other videos in Youtube looking for McFussel. Have fun. Ed
  2. Hi I put the board up for auctioning on German Ebay (ebay.de) with article number 330291692309 I will ship worldwide but keep customs and shipping fees in mind as the board is in Europe! You pay for shipping and customs. Anyway - the baby wil be gone on Monday afternoon. Greetings Ed
  3. I have received various mails from Scott and Catek and they have shipped today. Also Scott apologized. Looks like things are being settled and we keep riding fine bindings from a fine company. **** happens everywhere. Just make sure it happens more often elsewhere. Greetings Ed. PS: Will send a final post when delivered to calm things down.
  4. Unfortunately I have neither received a mail from Catek (regarding my OS2 standard order from early Oct) nor a shipment. Things seem to improve. They are good when the goodies arrive. Hoping the best for my trip in a week.
  5. Hi Bobdea: yes - thats the issue. What can I do to receive the bindings? Ed
  6. btw: still no delivery or information from Catek. Seams to be true for everyone that has ordered there.
  7. Yes ... - this is a niche sport - most of us love small, innovative companies - they make things happen - the season has not really started - Catek has taken my money and not delivered or answered my mails/calls - Catek is still not given any answers What I expect from Catek is: a) to inform new customers on their Website regarding their service level, the delay and when they will ship products b) to inform everyone who has ordered when the bidning will be shipped. Catek posted over a week ago that the bindings ordered are being engraved and will be send out last week. I received nothing. I read in this forum (a week after the first Catek announcement) that Catek is trying to "...facilitate shipping of bindings to people who have ordered them...". That means nothing to me! Catek: Make a honest statement and deliver to your promise. This is a sad story....
  8. Thanx for the great help in this forum. I received a direct mail adress within 1 hour or so from this forum. Also Scott posted some info here. I hope to receive the binding soon. Nothing so far. I will post again as soon as I receive the binding or next week for a sad update. Ed
  9. Great to hear that Scott is in the UK. Have fun over there. And good that Catek is doing OK. But: I still have not received the ordered binding or heard anything regarding my order three weeks ago. Plus there is no info on the Catek Site or online store!?!
  10. The Cyborg is much better than a Skwal. In my mind. - It has better ice grip, is more versatile and more fun. - Due to the 50 cm stance (20 inches) it feels more like a snowboard. - Changing direction is faster than on a normal snowboard. - Narrow = no torsion = ice grip. I think the video was made by Lothar, alias Mc Fussel. He can be found on the Frozen Backside Forum and is a friend of Pogo and myself. You US boys should come over to Europes biggest reaceboarder/carver event; the Carving Masters on May 1st (4 days) in Soelden, Austria. Ed
  11. Thanx guys. I got Jeffs direct mail and contacted him. I will keep you updated. Great forum. Quick !!!
  12. I am selling my Virus Cyborg Proto 2007. I bought this board January 2007 new special made from Virus / Germany. Stance is 50 cm. The board is a Proto where the new crossed triax (carbon, kevlar, glass) was used on top and lower sheet (on both sides of wooden core) for the first time. Board is extra stiff with a layer of zylon inside and thicker woodcore. Top material is see through clear paint (you look directly at the triax material). Rode this babe for the rest of the 2007 season (Jan-March) and the first part of the winter 07/08 when I switched to a Virus Undertaker Zylon. Board is in mint condition. Edges are sharp (88; base has never been touched. Recommend this board for serius riders only. Ideal weight for this board is 80+ kg; equals > 170 lbs. Board is for freaks only; its stiff and needs speed and pressure. Board is also shown on the Virus site at http://www.virus-snowsports.com/flash/player.swf?video=video_1&w=600&h=480 Board is currently in Europe. But I will ship to worldwide. Mail me for pics. Price 1600 USD. Ed
  13. Hi Does anyone know whats going on with Catek (Caron Technologies)? The company that makes those fine bindings up in Newport. Here is my story: Contacted Catek early Sept via mail and asked some questions. Never heard one thing. Customer service? Saw and installed a binding late Sept on a glacier tour and ordered on Sept 20th with 3 day US delivery. The amount was paid via VISA and deducted. I received 2 automated e-mails within a minute after buying online. Then nothing. A week went by. Tried to call - answerphone -> use the Web support. Made a mail. Nothing. Another week went by. Same story. Never heard or received anything. Anyone knows whats going on with Catek? On vacation? Their normal way? Thanx for any info Ed
  14. Hi My board is 14 cm wide (Virus Cyborg). Therefore I ride angles between 75 und 85 degrees. I am currently using a TD1 SI Skwal and would like a second set best so I can change spare parts between them (I do frequently need new heel). How wirde is the TD2? Whcih angles can I ride with a TD2? Are the parts interchangabel between TD1 and TD2? Thanx Ed
  15. Looking for a TD1 Skwal Step in. Need the binding to go with a Virus Cyborg (width 14.1 cm). Thanx. e.mulder@bluewin.ch US buyer !
  16. Blast r great boards. Used to ride one before I switsched to Virus (narrow board) but nothing beats a blast on a day of soft snow or in powder. Very versatile. Never broke mine but killed the edge on a rock. Sometimes bowrrow one for powdering.... Go ahaed - if I understand correct Blasts are made with a horizontal layered wood core (only producers) - this being the reason for its superior riding (but I am a rider not a technican). Ed
  17. Hi Guys I am living in Switzerland and some frineds of mine and I do some carving over here in Europe (I am currently riding a 183cm Virus Cyborg with a TD1 skwal). Some movies available at http://www.extremecarving.com/attachments/rememberthesound.wmv (blue jacket). My wife an I will visit my parents who moved to Floirda over X-mas. After that we wanna go from Ft. Myers / FL to Coloarado for some carving (January 4 - for a week or so). Any ideas on good resorts (nice snow / steep abnd wide slopes) ? Any ideas on a good way to book for a reasonable price (inc. flight, ticket, accomo.). Looks like prices are higher even than in expensive Switzerland but maybe we are just dummies from Europe ? We are looking for a budget accomodation (we will carve all day and be so tired every night anyway).... Thanx for any help. Greetings from Switzerland (first snow due next weekend -:) Ed.
  18. Hi Bought a TD1 Stepin last season from this site and mounted it on my Virus Black Death. Unfortunately the TD1 only allows angles up to 70 degrees and for narrow boards (Virus Cyborg is 14 cm wide) this is not sufficient. So now I got a TD1 Stepi in Skwal binding that is great. I am using purple rubbers on the bindings. Question: Has anyone tried to ride the TD1 without rubbers ? Theoretically the board will flex better (more naturally) w/o them. Any suggestions / experiences ? Thanx Ed
