  1. I would say the 172 based on your details. But both will be fine. Have you ever tried any longer boards before?

I have ridden a beamer and it is a good board but you should be much happier on a silberfeil. The edge hold is much much better.

Hey JTslalom where you up on tuesday? I have been watching out for you and JP1 but no luck. I havent seen Erik either.

  2. That explains it!

I am a goofy footer and I am sure the board was a regular.

I remeber that I was having a hard time on the board but I am not sure if it was inexperience or the fact the board flexed like a 2x4 or a combination of the three. sorry to hear about your knee.

  3. I have ridden it. I used to work for a shop that sold apocalypse boards.

I vaguely recall that it was stiff for its length and construction looked a bit suspect. Overall I was not to impressed but I may have been a bit too much of a newbie to really appreciate it.

I am contemplating going up this weekend calling around for hotels at Okemo. Please post your opinion on how it rides.

I do remeber it was hard to tune and grind though with that base! :)

  4. It looks like three votes for the 2 pair sporttube. Thanks for the links and advice. It looks solid enough and I like the idea of a hard plastic case instead of soft cordura. I measured my widest board and its 23 cm I also like the fact that the length is adjustable up to 207 cm. If you put 2/3 boards in the 2 pair sport tube will they fit together well?

    thanks again

  5. "I have 2 in the stable now, a 188 PR and a 172 AM. I ride my AM 90% of the time now and am pondering selling my PR but I am torn, because once it is gone, I will probably never get another one. The 10% of the time I am on my PR I remind myself why I should keep it."

I have been debating if I should get a PR. I have a 177 AM and the thing rocks. I can only imagine how the PR will hold. I have never had the pleasure to ride a PR so I cannot say.

At least I am on the list for next year :)

  6. I agree with your point that people travel at higher speeds and a potential collision could be more serious. But I think overall locals are familiar with carving and the way carvers move combined with smaller crowds and lots of space. Maybe one should be weary when the tourons invade during peak holidays like Xmas, MLK and Presidents day weekend.

I logged more than 600 days in 5 seasons of carving at SV and never had a collison. In Jersey in 10 days on the mountain I have been hit twice. Bad luck? Maybe. I hope you were not injured.

  7. Erik

So you dont have a board? What happened to your donek? If you sold it that blows.

I have a couple of oxygen 170's that you can use until you can get a replacement (repair). I have seen some guys do some amazing edge repairs but looking at the photos I think you are looking for a miracle worker.

I hate to keep bad mouthing Mtn creek. But it has seemed better since they opened up the rest of the mtn.

    Let me know

  8. Hey jerry
