Hi; How old are the bindings? How much use have they had? Thanks, Mark

  2. ----The driest feb. in history: 0.004" for the month.

----UNBELIEVABLE high temps. 60* highs every day. Next wed forcast 68*!!

----We're in Eastern Wash. st. near idaho/Montana border only one hour south of Canada. Our mountain w/ 5 long chairlifts is totally brown having closed on January 14 after 6 days of temps around 10* below zero.

----North Idaho and most all of Montana are pretty much the same. One resort opened last Sunday. I just trashed my Prior

    4x4.

----And then I've got to listen to all you dudes from the East Coast, California, Utah and Colorado.....it's just damn torture!

----I'm dealing with serious depression here. Is there a doctor in the house? Anyone have an airplane I can barrow just for afew weeks???

    :(

  3. After a very late start, just before New Year's, our local ski areas are closed again. With rain and warm temps most of this week, next week end looks bad as well. The lower runs actually have more dirt then snow. We went from minus 10 degrees F, clear cold, dry skys, to 45* with wind and heavey rain all within 2 days. The warm rain has lasted a week. It's the worst season I can ever remember in 30 years of skiing and carving.

Might have to get on an airplane.........

  4. Wow. You guys must rock! I just looked at the trail maps of all the different areas. Looks like carvers paradise.

I'm going to be down there on Dec. 30th for family and should be able to get three days in. What would you guys recommend for the right areas? Which runs should I scope out?

I'd sure appreciate some help. Or if you're riding one day, maybe I could tag along for afew runs. I'd do the same if anyone wants to try N. Idaho or S. BC. Canada. Thanks;)

  5. Yep...take it from an oooold ski racing coach: Household parafin. Steel it from your mom's canning supplies or buy it at Safeway. It's not for real cold temps, and not for super slushy days. But for those avaerage cold winter days to wet snow it's great. I use it 75% of the time. Most wax is a rip-off. Unless we're ski racing, no necessito.

  6. Hey guys, Here's a note from a fellow carver and member here. What a good guy!

Mark, AWESOME! This very well may reveal the true info on the board. Thanks for the update. I don't think contact is necessary with Donek at this point because using this information, you can go on Donek's site, on their specs page.....go HERE: http://www.donek.com/specs.htm , scroll down the page to 175 VLAD CRV, that is most likely his board with his custom specs! As a suggestion and a shortcut to gain info on this board, you might want to go to the Bomber website and add the info you just provided me to your "For Sale" thread for this board, as well as to reference the link I just gave you. The carving community in general is small, and on the Bomber site, it's even tighter. The guy you bought it from might be known to others on the site, and they may know his riding style, riding habits, and height and weight which may help to describe the board a little better for you, hence, possibly extra $$ for you. Thy may also be able to dissect the specs, to figure out what specific purpose this board was made for. As a glance, and with the extra info (especially with the extra length) I'd guess this is more of a GS or maybe even Super G board, but as this is a custom for someone, that of course is not necessarily true. I'd guess that the CRV possibly means their FreeCarve model, but a custom spec of course. If you add this to the auction, it will likely help you out immensely:

Model Length Edge Sidecut Nose Waist Tail Stiffness Cost New

    175 Vlad Crv 175 159 13 22.36 17.5 22.36 8.1 $550.00

Why am I helping you out? Well, at this point, I think this is too much board for me too, so maybe this info will help you fetch some extra $$ for it. Take care, & good luck with the auction!

    -Chris
