Sean (snowperformance) has the most serious program that I know of. They run out of Crystal. I'm trying to get a program started at Alpental but they only have City League right now.

Art... that's pretty much what I was thinking although it depends on my work schedule since I teach on the weekends.
Anyone interested in doing a City League team? We would need at least 6 people with up to 6 alternates. Races are Friday nights 7:30 - 9:30 Price: $550 per team
Jim and Bryan...I got the bindings but forgot one thing; sales tax.

The bindings are all metal with the exception of the part of the clip on the heel bail. I'm going to pickup some more either tomorrow or Monday. The sale is located in the south parking lot of the Northgate Mall.

Bryan...

Hey Jon..
I'm really sorry I missed you that day. There were circumstances beyond my control. I know there are quite a few alpine guys around, I was just relating what was told to me. I've heard about the program at Mission and wish we had one here. BTW I was at Ski Bonkers and they have Drake kids plate bindings for $10. I'm going back in the morning to pick up a few pairs, anybody want me to grab them a pair?

More alpine presence is needed. When discussing the idea of adding a snowboard group to the race program (ages 7-13) the biggest issue was interest. Appearantly the concensus is that there is only 2 hardbooters in all of Washington. Instead of starting an entirely new division they would rather try a one or two day race camp for all ages either President's Day weekend or in the spring. Any opinions?

I am trying to get a list together of hard booters in Washington who would be interested in getting together and riding this winter. Please send me an email or post here.
Thanks,

Surphadude,
Two things that you absolute must do for sponsorship are a resume and video. For the riders I work with I always ride with them at least at 2 different resorts. That way I can see how they are on there home turf and then see how well they adjust.
On a college level, Ghost is right. There are lots of funding opportunities My first real sponsorship was a shop owned by alumni.

I don't know about that. I think resorts are counting on a good year. I got called back to work today and a ton of others are starting next week.
If the doc says ok then count me in for next year. I should be good to go by that time. I missed the first one due to surgery.

I was looking for the Nidecker or similar. The burton doesn't go small enough. I think the smallest Mondo size they cover is 17. Can you email a pic of the wombats?

these guys are the targeted market for jib tech
Now that's funny.:D Unfortunately when it comes to the retail market sex...i mean graphics sell. Well maybe a little of both. All the boards with half naked girls, guns and skulls sell out first. Most people buy for looks then price and finally quality. The only way to get folks on a high quality made in the USA board is either have them do an on snow demo or spruce up the graphics. While statistically carvers are a way different demographic; if better graphics put more hardbooters on hill wouldn't you be happy?

Someone called and left a message awhile back about a set a jr bindings but my wife deleted the message before I could check it.
Are they still available? If so pleeeeease call me back. Thanks!:D

new bindings? Burton likes to either take or buy new technology rather than create it themselves. IE capstrap from technine, snowskate from steve franke, and now the releasable strap binding from Snobo and Revolution.

Matt...I feel your pain. Literally. I'm on week 14 of who knows how many more. When I saw the doc a couple weeks ago he said 7-9 more MONTHS. No surfing, snowboarding or anything using my left arm except during physical therapy 2-3 times a week. At least I'm getting paid.

Right the small ones under HRM were OK. The ones under Easy Rider, though, had too long of a table for their kick and were too close together. I was able to hit the last of the three right if I skipped the first two....
I hit the first one and occaisonally the 3rd...I liked being able to go around and gap the evil "C" rails then use the bottom of the pipe as a hip. I can do the first table switch and occaisonally one footed but I have way too speed to try that silly stuff on the other two.
Art...sounds good to me if the doc says its ok. Appearantly I have another 7 months or so of rehab before I can go back to "work" on snow.:(

Yeah I heard about that one. He was a skier who bombed straight from the top of Central Express with no shirt or helmet when things were starting to ice up in the late afternoon. Ruptured spleen I think. The thing that pissed me off most about the parks is that they brought in Frank Wells last year to design the parks and they were even worse than the year before when Gunny did them. They should send the park guys on a field trip to other mountains (Hood & Tahoe) to see how things are done.
