I'm an inbounds/sidebounds softboot freerider who has been riding Clicker HB Pros with Shimano Reaper boots for ten years. I like the step-in system and the boots are satisfactory. My feet are flat and it's hard for me to find a comfortable fit, so I just stayed with this setup for a decade. Compared to modern binders that employ whatever innovations of the past decade, is the Clicker HB Pro now an inferior system for freeriding?
I guess what I'm thinking is: Ten years ago, if I would've bought a high-end mountain bike, enjoyed it for 10 years, then looked at today's high-end bikes, I would definitely think "There's nothing wrong with your old bike, but today's bike is lighter, more reliable, 20% better riding experience... if you've got the cash, definitely upgrade." Is that the situation, or is it like a can opener, an tool that hasn't changed substantially since 1925?
