Alpine Bank had asked that Fintan Doyle, the founder and former owner of Bomber who sold it to the Callens, be appointed as receiver because "he is highly familiar with Bomber's business operations and the industry within which it once operated under his control." Doyle, according to a motion from Alpine Bank, had agreed to manage the Bomber business at a rate of $50 an hour during his term as receiver.

The suit adds that Bomber is no longer in business and that it is "unknown what defendants have done with Bomber's inventory."

Personally I wouldn't order anything unless Fin himself said it was safe to do so.

I order Regular SW from Donek, in two hours I got e mail and call from Sean to verify some details and binding was shipped in the afternoon.

Sean at Donek has been a bright spot throughout this uncertain process...definitely exemplifies great customer service. The MK I ordered from Bomber just arrived and Sean went above and beyond to assist me. Future purchases will be made directly from them...something I should have done for this order.

Still no word about the TD3's and bag...I was going to give Jim a little more time to complete the order but given the development of this thread, I think it's best to call my CC company and dispute the amount for the unshipped merchandise now rather than later.

Stoked about the board; wish I had the "stealth" TD3's to go with it.

  3. I'm in limbo as well having pulled the trigger on a Donek MK, TD3 step-in, and a board bag on October 4th. I was on the fence about ordering from Bomber given the communication issue (forum and phones) but Jim replied via email, the reason seemed legit, and the sale price on bindings/free shipping offer made it over $100 cheaper. Donek has been sending me build updates which has been reassuring; unfortunately I've heard nothing on the other items. I'm confident that the board will arrive but doubtful on the rest of the order...luckily I can dispute the charge amount for anything unfulfilled if it comes to that.

I too hope that someone picks up and continues their business...especially the gear they manufactured and this forum. Despite lurking most of the time on this site I've met up with several local riders and have learned a lot on valuable information...thanks everyone!

Holding out to hear from the trustee will probably be a long wait...according to the filing they're not set to meet until December 8th.

  4. Up at my home resort in central California I was making large turns down an intermediate run. I always look up to make sure I have room and didn't see anyone coming down...the run was pretty empty. Towards the bottom of the run I got smashed by a skier while in the middle of a toe side turn (I'm assuming he straight lined it). After hitting me he immediately got up and yelled, "What the F was that" multiple times. I calmly told him that I was the downhill rider and it was his responsibility to look out for me. A group of patrollers were riding up the lift and saw the whole thing. From the lift they yelled at the skier telling him he was skiing way too fast and was at fault for the accident. He looked at me, said, "I guess I'm wrong then", and skied off...no apology.

  5. Got diverted to China Peak because of Christmas travel plans.  Any one ever ride there?

China Peak has a good variety of terrain when they have enough snow to open up all of it. Kaiser under chair 2 is good for carving and chair 7 is good if you want to escape the crowds. No high speed chairs and the amenities are a little basic when compared to Mammoth.

When are you going? I'll be up there visiting family and plan to ride China Peak on the 27th.

  6. For sale is a pair of Snow Pro FAST Race bindings size large with heels. I purchased these new from Dan Yoga and put about 3-4 days on them before switching to TD3's. All hardware is included (cants, screws, leash) and the heels are in great shape. Price is $100 shipped USPS medium flat rate box from 91740. Contact me at (my user name) at yahoo com if interested.

  7. I'll take them…how do you want to proceed? I'm fairly close and could swing down to San Diego next week with cash or I can send a PayPal payment and have them shipped.

Lowrider, I'm sizing down from a 25.0 to see if this addresses some slop I can't fully eliminate in my 25's…If they don't work out I'll message you.
