  1. My shoulder is ok, got a concussion and couldn't walk last night (my knee looked like a baseball). Today is better, I can walk and bend the knee but the head hurts a bit (probably do to the Finnegans from last night). I think I'm going to break down and get a pass for Welch. At least they have more than 2 runs open. I'll probably hold off on the knitting for awhile.

  2. Anyone been there recently???? We have 2 (yes that's 2) runs open at Steeplechase. Took my son out today and it sucked. Tried the FP 167 for a few runs then switched to softies. Did a few lessons, then tried to freeride a bit. Flew off the run, hit a tree, dislocated a shoulder, knocked myself out, hosed my knee up.........All in all it was a bad day!!! I think I'll take up knitting.:mad::mad::mad:

  3. Size is alot smaller than Welch. During the week there are no crowds so you can ride all day/night without having human gates. Weekends are busy because Otto Hallus and Blizzard are there. If you are interested in coming down, I can hook you up with tickets. If you want to get rid of that Goltes, let me know.

  4. I guess the killing line was a bit harsh. Was a little bit tired at the time. I wasn't trying to equate hunting with killing, that's just the way it came out. I come home empty handed more often than not, it's just nice to get away for a couple of hours.

We've had a real problem with "road poachers" the past couple of years. Most of them have no place to hunt and think it's ok to do what they do. I have been thinking about putting a portable stand near the road; maybe if they see someone in orange it would deter them a bit. It seems like we are spending more time listening for road shots and slow moving vehicles than hunting.

I will tell my wife that I'm taking the 10 gauge and the goose decoys for a walk this afternoon.......hope it works!!! :biggthump

  5. For those of us that kill things, was just wondering how the deer season went for everyone. Rifle season is over here in MN. I got a 10 point that was 234 lbs hanging, my mother got an 8 point 257 lbs hanging plus a spike, three does and a fawn buck that someone tried poaching off our land. We heard them shoot from the road and take off. The fawn died about 100 yds in our woods. We sat and waited and 30 minutes later they came back and were quite suprised to see us sitting by the deer they shot. Long story short, they were cited and will be in court soon. :nono:

  6. Nothing left in the size I was looking for. Wish I would have known sooner that they had them. Seems hit and miss when they get race boards, I did score a couple of Burners' 3 years ago. Will look for you at the USASA events this year.

  7. wow...if I only had the $395!

I guess if I hadn't just bought that Speedster RS BRAND NEW from The house for $239 I could afford this "full-on race" board and could finally stop being a wimp!!!

Did you get that from The House here in Minnesota. Let me know, I may have to take a drive up there.

  8. Same townhome, was sleeping in my bedroom when a loud bang in the kitchen woke me up. I went to investigate and found a homeless person butt naked and backed up to my stove trying to get warm (it had been raining for a week). All his clothes were draped over my kitchen and the funk was horrible. SDPD got him out rather quick.

  9. I lived in a townhome complex in San Diego that was horseshoe shaped with a big common area in the middle. After a fine day surfing, I walked in with a board in each hand, a towel around my waist, and the wet suit draped over one of the boards. Why I came home in just a towel I can't explain. What I do know is that the towel went south and I wasn't going to drop the boards and have a ding repair to do that night. I kept walking to my pad with alot of laughter coming from everyone in the common area. :biggthump

  10. Seems like a durn fine deal. I don't know much about Mossberg rifles but I have an older 12 gauge pump that has been problem free. On the other side, one of the guys I goose hunt with had a newer Mossberg 12 gauge semi-auto that he finally got rid of because it kept jamming regardless of weather conditions. I have also heard from other people who have had the same issue. Is that gun bolt or semi? Kind of hard to pass on a deal like that. :AR15firin

  11. I deer hunt with a 30-06 and love it. Have dropped a deer at around 400 yards with it. Do some research on the gun though, $399 with a scope seems pretty cheap. Be careful hunting on state forest land; around here it is like a shooting gallery, hunters making "sound shots" before they see the deer.
