  1. Where is this foot mutant you speak of! Gonna wander around the house with the liners on until my appointment next week with Greg at Ski Barn in Wayne, NJ. I have no time, nor interest in trying to buy liners, get em home and work them to fit my foot. Considering what I spent on this setup, what's another $200 to get the most important part, the boots, dialed in perfectly, by an expert! Appreciate the advise, thanks!
  2. Holy shitballs do these boots KILL my feet! Had em on for about 25 minutes and both feet fell dead asleep. Without the liners, I have at least 1" to 1.5" in the heel areas, which I believe is good. After wearing them for the 1st 5 minutes, I added the included "instep/width regulation pieces to the instep of the liners and it did help a bit. But walking around the house in them, it wasn't long before both feet began to throb and eventually pins & needles started to set in. The majority of the pain seems to be on the inside portion of the instep area and a little bit in the side heel area. Not knowing shit about these boots or how to DIY tweak them, my next trip is going to have to be to a boot fit professional. There's no way I can comfortably ride in these for more than 1 short run...and that ain't gonna cut it.
  3. So if I am reading all this right, I shouldn't even be bothering with the stock UPZ liners? I've had them on once since getting them, all be it sitting at my desk in my office and they were awfully uncomfortable. I am going to put them on tonight and try to dial them in a bit for a prolonged period and see how they feel.
  4. Trying to free up some time this week to get everything set, but the real job seems to be getting in the way of my free time!!
  5. Never really got an answer from UPZ, but whatever. Both were sent from Canada. The bindings were sent USPS and got here in like 2 days. The boots were sent UPS and took 12 days purchase to arrival. The board came from SLOVENIA and got here in 2 f'in days! Go figure! Haven't really had a chance to get into the boots yet, too much happening at the place that pays the bills for all this expensive hard booting stuff!
  6. FINALLY, the last piece to the get back on the horse puzzle has arrived! I currently have them ON, in my office and think a trip to the boot fitter is not far down the road!
  7. I am totally going to see a professional IF the liners suck as everyone says they will...just need the boots to find out! As of 4am this morning, my boots were 2 miles away...and will stay there until UPS delivers them on Monday! 12 days from order to receive is like living in the stone ages!
  8. Fingers crossed the stock liners will be fine, but somehow I think I will be in a good ski shop getting them customized.
  9. I like the $100 savings, but who does the modifications/fitting (if needed).
  10. What's that they say, "a watched pot never boils." Watching the sloooow trek of my UPZ boots across the country is pure TORTURE...particularly when places in Vermont are getting SNOW all week!
  11. The boots and bindings were purchased from UPZBoots.com. The bindings were shipped using our illustrious USPS and arrived on 1/7. The boots were shipped UPS and are scheduled to arrive 1/14! Itching to ride would be an understatement! I leave for Mexico on 1/26...so it looks like February and March will be my time to finally get back on the hard boot train. Thanks for the offer at Hunter!
  12. The torture of receiving each item days apart is funkin REDUNK! The boots aren't going to be here until 1/14/19! #ShootMe
  13. I haven't received them yet. Monday I will know how they fit.
  14. Yup, heard all about the UPZ liners, luckily, I have an Intuition dealer I can work with should I need them. Can't wait to click in again!!
  15. I was gonna save the boots & bindings as surprises! I went with the 2019 RC12 Shoxxter: Solid Lime Yellow and the SG Performance Bindings. I am 2 hours South of Hunter Mtn. In NY, so that's the closest for me. As soon as I have everything put together, I would like to head to Mt. Snow or Killington for a few days.
  16. Well, I guess I'm going to have piece together the posts as the equipment arrives!?! After much research and advice from the forum (daveo in particular), the trigger has been pulled. Thanks to Ivan at @i-carve, I received my new (left over) 17/18 SG Full Carve 170...in record time! I paid for it using transferwire and within 36 hours, the board appeared in NJ from Slovenia! DHL is the shite!! I can't say enough good things about Ivan, responsive, knowledgeable, helpful and fair with pricing. I just wish I could have been able to bundle everything through @i-carve. Now the torture of sitting and waiting for the bindings & boots to arrive from UPZBoots.com. Here's some garage porn for ya...
  17. Thanks... I never thought demo'ing anything from the hard boot alpine world was possible here in the Northeast ...if I've seen 5 hard boot riders in the last 3 years at any mountain I've been to, it would be alot. High Country Sports in Livingston, NJ carrie's and fits Intuition liners and Pro Ski And Ride is a specialty ski shop in Hunter, NY that also handles Intuition.
  18. KMF, I believe the advice I've received and the research I've done has me right where I need to be for getting back into alpine riding. I'm set on the boots and bindings from Carvers Paradise...especially after emailing Sebastian who told me the shipping is FREE! (see screenshot) The board is where I am still kinda stuck on. After the holidays I'm going to make a call to Sean at Donek to discuss what you mentioned, a slightly wider waist for the type riding and conditions we have here in the NE. Thanks for the input and insight, maybe we can catch up this season somewhere in NJ or NY for a day trip.
  19. 100% the case for me too. The only problems I've ever had with overseas purchases has been with Amazon and it was a case of let the buyer beware and all on me for not reading the fine print.
  20. If they used our illustrious USPS, it would be a deal breaker. The fact that they use UPS, gives me piece of mind. I now see the US wedged in between the SY & AE...thanks!
  21. Yes they are. I was hoping that if I purchased the entire package from 1 vendor, it would give me the best deal, but that doesn't appear to be the case. I am ok with getting the board from the board specialist and the boots and bindings from a different vendor.
  22. KMF, Thanks for the heads up on the Carversparadise.com site, seems like very, very competitive pricing. My purchases have been on hold due to the holiday's, so its given me some time to research pricing. The deal I am getting from Donek takes $250 off the package if you combine the board & boots. Board comes to $855, boots are $599. Taking the $250 off for bundling, the board & boots come to $1,244.00 + $40 shipping - $1,288.00. It looks like carvers paradise is the place to go for the bindings & boots. Boots, bindings and accessories come to around $705.00 usd. The only question is shipping costs through carvers paradise? It looks like there aren't any to Dirty Jersey (NJ), is that possible?
  23. I found a fairly local Intuition dealer so IF I need them, I know where I'll be going. Thanks!
  24. Kneel, are they the low, medium or high volume? Did you go with the toe kit too?
