  1. Hey I have been out the last 4 weekends with my kids on our softies. Excellent conditions on what was open. they are using mapmaker for training during the week, so its in top form as long as its groomed. Still limited terrain, though I read they are opening silver on Saturday, which would likely only be homesteader down. Crowds have been ok, as long as you stick to gold. Homesteader is full of the usual Jerry's, so hopefully with silver open, it keeps a few more of them off of gold.

  2. I was out there for the PM today, saw a brave soul on a Kessler I believe (I was on my softies). Just Mapmaker open today, with upload/download on Olympic. It wasn't very busy, but I suspect when I am out there with my kids tomorrow it will be nuts. Snow was the usual groomed/manmade, though pretty rutted/icy/choppy from all the race training. Hopefully its groomed tonight. Anyway, It wasn't amazing, but it sure beat spending the afternoon at work.

And yes, you can reload your pass online if you had one last year (at least that's what I did)

Imprint 3x? I was under the impression that these were not heat moldable. But I also found them incredibly uncomfortable. I swapped them out for something different.

I thought they were but I could be mistaken. I will have to do more research as I thought I had read that they were moldable by a Burton dealer.. Mold able or not, following your lead and swapping them might be the better option anyway. And thanks for the info!

  4. I second the Apex recommendation. I just got back from 3 days there, and it was EPIC. Super steep, with 20 cms fresh the last day. Luckily I was with a guy who rides there all the time, on that hill a little local knowledge goes a long way.  Though it might be smaller than some of the other hills around, it more than makes up for it in terrain and atmosphere.

  5. I was up there with my kids on Sunday, soft bootin it. The conditions on Sunday seem better than Saturday, it was actually pretty good. Mapmaker was in mid season form I would say. They usually (or at least used to) blow this run first so it could be used for pre-season training, I am thinking that they still do that and open it to the public on the weekends to catch some more revenue. We didn't check out the glades (my boys are 7 and 9), but it looked like there was lots of snow elsewhere up top. It was super crowded on the one run, but lots of fun and no rocks. I wouldn't be comfortable on plates in that type of crowd, but I did see someone leaving with a carving board as we got there at noon. It certainly met (and probably exceeded) my expectations for getting a few turns in on the first weekend in November.
