For 105 pounds and Slalom the 160-165 SG could be too stiff as they are made for larger riders. The 156 length may be better.

My wife had these and switched back to regular ski boots and feels like the regular skiboots have much more power.

The closest comparable I can think of in a controlled situation is Boy Scout Pinewood derby cars. There are very strict rules on weight and the total weight of the car cannot exceed 5 ounces. They race on a matched track from the same release point. I can tell you that the margin of error on the scale is +/- .1 ounce and the 0.1 matters so you put on very small weight to get the actual weight to 5.04 ounces. A car that weight even a fraction of an ounce more will have an advantage all other things being equal. A difference of say 20% (4 oz v 5 oz) will make a big difference in results and the heavier weight can overcome difference in lubrication and aeodynamics.
So to me it can play a part of the equation.
Look at downhill racers - most are pretty large. Makes less of a difference in technical events. Would probably make more of difference in BX as compared GS or SL.

My two cents on the equipment.
The 170 is a short GS board. Most racers you see on a 162 SL board would be riding a 185 GS board. The 162 may be a lot of board compared to the 170, so maybe a shorter/softer SL board would work better? For Kessler that would be a 156 or 159.

I heard about $800.00 for the fine.

Don't know if this link from instagram will insert, Alexander Payer and a number of the other racers were not happy with the conditions in Georgia for the GS race

So not just the graphics- new construction inside for torsion control as well as a new nose shape - also graphics not necessary

This is certainly concerning. The interviews with women willing to go on the record are horrifying.

Not racing, but man did those Japanese halfpipe riders go big - Japanese air force. Of course carving is a critical skill for halfpipe. Justin Reiter posted a a picture with the caption that they were going to need thermal shields for atmospheric reentry.

I believe you are incorrect (but I’m no expert either!) That being said they are still in the process of qualifying and Cody appears to be in a good spot. Only the top thirty ranked men and top thirty ranked women go according to a quota system. Each country can have a maximum of 4 riders. Right now Cody appears to be safely within the top thirty and AJ Muss is on the edge.
Unfortunately they will probably be paying their own way with no support from USSA.

The risk they are under in downhill and super G is really scary. On a brighter note, Maxence Muzaton had an incredible save a couple of weeks ago:
Yep - and Ester had to pull out of the snowboard world championships this week

And when you get done riding stop at the T-bar for food and drinks - located by the base of the Christie 3 lift in an old ski patrol shack. Food is great and all seating is currently outside so great if it’s sunny.
On Sunday’s and some other days the SSWSC Alpine Snowboard Team may be training gates on All Out, other days they train at Howelsen in town.

Are these still available?
If so I'll take them

There are a lot of kids racing - about 100% start on soft boots as you can see with several hundred kids in the younger age groups at nationals. Most of these are not started and motivated by their parents.
As they progress a smaller percentage move into hard boot racing as they are not competitive if they don’t. Virtually all in the group are self motivated (nog motivated by their parents) and I know of only a very few parents in that group that hard boot. The coaching as they move move up is far beyond what a parent can provide.
