Video Kayaker, Dishdog I was a patroller but didn't like the hurt people part.
  • Current Boards in your Quiver
99.9 of the time I ride an Arbor Aframe 168, my ideal run consists of pow that I've hiked to, drifts, trees, moguls, rocks, some trench digging and if it's convenient a rail or two and I ride switch quite a bit. It has to be a pretty hard day before
  • Current Boots Used?
I started snowboarding before there were snowboarding boots so my alternative was to ride in my tele boots and still do. I like the Garmont, um, it's the midweight, light and kind of soft. Generally I ski/ride all day, everyday and I like the cush fa
  • Current bindings and set-up?
Trench diggers but I had to bend the toe bail quite a bit and use washers to get it to fit the width of my boot. Emory Plates(does that sound right?) on the Riot. My ideal set up would be 45 45 if my feet were small enough but I think I'm more like 5

  1. I jumped the gun and see people reccomended putting plates on your Aframe. This being the bomber site, their stuff is awesome, i had to have a friend widen the toe bails for tele boots but they are the best i've ridden.
  2. It has to be a pretty hard day before I can't trenchdig on my Aframe 166. I noticed you tele. I ride in the medium weight Garmont tele boot. You have to make sure the toe bail on the binding is wide enough and if it's loose because of the tele-toe you can use a shim on the throw of the binding. My current setup is tight, but some bibdings fit some boots better than others. You can also cut the toe off but it can pop out of some tele bindings then. Angle your feet so you don't have any boot overhang and have faith, it'll be there for you i promise. Full blown race rigs are sweet, and i have a seldom ridden one, but don't let not having one slow you down in the least. I can happily carve groomers for days on end and do considerable back and sidecountry, moguls, a little bit in the park(I'm getting older) and I can trench dig switch all on the same rig. UH...I'm trying to exstoll the virtues of carving an Aframe not tooting my horn i swear...you can do it too. I can "upgrade" to my Scarpa T-1s on harder days. AT boots are similar, about as stiff as a rec carve boot, just no beveled heal and toe If you decide to sell yours i might be interested. Nathan
  3. I'm from Driggs/Jackson Hole doing the elderly parents thing in Asheville. I ride the The Wolf for free so that's where i hang out. Some of the patrol are old school carvers as well. One of the liftees is a carver from Provo. It's, to say the least, a unique experience. Look me up. Can sometimes swing a deal for others. I'm also into skiing/riding Max Patch, Big Bald, Thunder Bowl etc anytime there might possibly be enough snow...haha. Gotten in about a half dozen "backcountry" days so far. Beer helps. 4. I ride at The Mighty Wolf Laurel free so that's where i hang out. It's pretty much like all the others with an extra heavy dose of Hillbilly. I'm a carver but mostly ski here. I can normally swing some sort of deal if make you it out this way. Probably not really worth the extra drive from cataloochie, aka, Like we have the sickest terrain but they get like all the pow like ya know broh. Nathan 208-270-2160
