  1. Speedzilla,

Cool graphics, love the liquid smoke.

I've got the same board. It took me 3 days to figure out if I will like it, all the snow we've gotten this year in the East had me out in pow and soft conditions every time I rode:angryfire

I now have 15 or so days on it and I'm blown away by the board. I'm selling boards because my Schtubby can now be used in a wider variety of conditions and trails. It is one of the most stable boards I've ever ridden, it's confidence inspiring. I was able to match turns of a 9m radius board for about 4 turns. I can ride steeps with it, ice was that just ice I carved ova? I didn't even notice:lol:Pow, crude it does it all.

I have a complete quiver from a 158 all the way up to a 195, with side cuts from 9m all the way up to 16m. I've only ridden my 158 for 4 runs everything else has been on my Schtubby. I was very skeptical of a 21cm waist and it took me some time to get use to it.

I ended up getting custom foot-beds from Erik Beckmann and it was the best thing I've done for my riding. Edge to edge transition is effortless and can now be done with minimal work.

This is the board that can do it all.

Thanks for that input Geoff, I hope to give it a go in a few days.

  2. First of all, I hate the term "extreme carving" for many reasons (MN folks know why). However, I do like to drag various parts of my body on the snow. Much like dragging a knee on a sportbike, I use my hands/forearms as a feeler and try not to put much weight on them.

I love high speed and high g-force carves, I don't know how to accomplish those things without dragging body parts through the snow.

  3. I've been using Plastic Dip that's used on tool handels. It works great and has saved a lot of my gloves, I've actually been able to bring old gloves back to life :biggthump. I'm still waiting hoping/counting on FIN or someonelse to come up with a love that well endure our palm draggin that we all do  . The dip on the finger tips last about one season, after that you just re-dip it's great stuff.

Bringing up an old thread here. After tearing some new and expensive mitts after only two days of use, I was searching on BOL for glove reviews and came across this post.

I picked up some Plasti-Dip and used it to bring several old pairs of gloves back to life. Excellent stuff. Thanks Geoff.

  4. DATE 1/21/09

    TEMP 28

    VISIBILITY Night

CONDITIONS Really nice, but a little chewed up after a busy day.

HARDBOOTERS 2 (Me, and another unidentified carver seen from the lift)

Took a friend out last night that is fairly new to snowboarding. The hill was quite busy but the snow was good, just as good as Afton was earlier in the day.

Saw another carver on the hill, but could not identify him from the lift.

  5. ...if you go for the custom topsheet. Snowboard Materials will do a great job with the graphics...eventually. And the topsheet will get held up at CDN customs so that they can admire it for a while. You really need at least 2 months lead time for the custom topsheet.

    Seriously?

I just placed an order for a top sheet that is supposed to be printed this week and shipped to Bruce. Please tell me that this is not how it usually works.
