Anybody going to be around. My wife and I just got in and will riding for the next two weeks

We had a great week. Sunny, upper 20’s and no wind with decent snow on the ground! Timberline was open all week too with great views up there.

We are on our way! Looking forward to a ride on the new lift!

The website is a little vague on when the new lift will open. What is the local gossip on when it will be turning?
Denise and I will be up the week of Feb 5. She got us a condo up in the Timbers this year!! I think its like our 26 th year we have been coming up and we are really looking forward to it. Sugarloaf is the best in the East in my book. Plus we met a lot of really great people over the years.

I was walking to the rack to grab my wife’s and my coiler after lunch. I hear a couple younger snowboarders “look at those mono skis. Thats sick. Yea they look like something my grand pop would ride”
I take a few more steps and grab our boards and hand my wife hers and say”here you go grand mom”

There are plenty of used Cateks around. If you like them someone recently posted a set in Vintage for sale

Best of luck for your daughter Jack. You gave me one small tip on my riding either last year or the year before which really helped me!

FAIR WARNING
A week and a half to go!! Denise and I will be up 2/5-2/10. Long term forecast looks good as of today.Looking forward to doing some riding with the "Locals"(you know who you are). I have not been out on my board yet this season due to local conditions. I think this is our 25th year coming up to Sugarloaf. Hmmmm-As I read this it makes me feel old.

Interesting this thread popped up. I just watched a surfing video a couple nights ago-“Powerglide”. There was a segment onMike-he could rip on a longboard.

Just so you know, there is no Starbucks at the top of the escalator, actually, there is no escalator, if you get there early enough, you might have to walk 50 yards to the lift, most of the lifts are fixed grip, it is an old school no frills ski area with few amenities (we like it that way) We ride hard out of the gate, and are usually smoked by noon and drinking beer. It is windy, and cold. Base is at 10800 feet, as one of the founders of the Lci, snow boarder pete, would say, "its rigorous" We welcome all on any given Sunday

Sounds PERFECT!!!! My wife will like the done by noon idea. I guess we will try to acclimate a week or so in Edwards as we live at about 365 feet here in Pa. Hope to join you guys next March

I just spent 2 weeks in Edwards. We rode everyday at either Vail or Beaver Creek. Conditions were awesome. We only saw one other person on an alpine board in 14 days on the mountain . We had met him before-a local from Eagle Vail. very nice video!

I have been there 5 of the last 7 days. Centennial has had the best grooming although somedays it is as though the second string operators are running the groomers. Be careful out there-there are a lot of clueless people on the mountain

My wife and I said in unison “looks like Vail”

My wife and I will be there 2/7-2/11. Looks like conditions will be awesome.

Hey John,
I broke the spherical nut on my Cateks earlier this season. (see the thread"Catek users please read") I was going to invert the bolt and put nylock nut on top as you did but you need to hold the bolt from turning. Is that a allen socket machined in the end of the bolt? If so great idea. I was going to just grind the end of the bolt to put a wrench on it. any interest in machining a few bolts for me??

My wife and I have been riding at Elk for the last 20 years. Icebiker description is spot on. Upper Tunkhannok is usually moguls. Very few people there on Sunday’s. This year we rode at Jack Frost because we had Epic passes but it was very disappointing

You should make the trip over the pass and join the LCI tomorrow morning at Loveland. We can get buddy passes for around $70.

Would loce to join the LCI cree but we are staying with a good friend in Edwards and we don’t have any transportation. My friend drives us around and I don’t want to ask him to go that far out of his way
Do you guys just ride weekends Maybe will rent a car for a day

My wife and I are in Vail/Beaver Creek for the next two weeks if anyone is around and wants to make a few runs.

I have the pro wrap as recommended by my boot fitter . He thought it would be a good fit for my foot and upz boots. I am on year 4 maybe 25-30 days a year. My feet have never been more comfortable. Plus they never get cold anymore!
