  1. One amazing Donek snowboard.

A little history, my favourite board ever was a 2003 Palmer Honeypro, it had an unusually long effective edge and contact length for a freestyle shape/flex; and applied carving technique could make that board sing.  Pipe.  Park. Groomers.  And even SBX races before the modern shapes took over.  Unfortunately, the Palmer broke.  No surprise, it was hella light and paper thin.  I asked Donek for help...

Sean Martin based this build on the Donek Twin chassis.  It is a park, pipe, and booter board for people who enjoy the journey (i.e. riding to and from the features). Specs are listed below:

    • Model: Twin
    • Length: 157cm
    • Waist Width: 25cm
    • Effective Edge: 130cm
    • Sidecut: 9m
    • Reference Stance: 60cm
    • Topsheet: From the Deep - textured

The long effective edge and Donek base make this an excellent board for banked slalom, or as a transition between a typical mass-market board and an true SBX racer.  Stiffness like a Burton Custom or Custom X.

Never ground.  Waxed often.  Topsheet looks amazing considering this was used for two seasons of coaching.  1º base edge, 2º side edge with lots and lots to spare.  No damage, rides like new.  Pic 3 shows the worst of the base.

Price --- How about 1/3 of what I paid ?:

    1. Shipped to your door in CONUS for $300USD via PayPal
    2. Shipped to your door in Canada for  $375CAD via EMT
    3. Trade for Burton Diode or X-Base re:flex bindings and/or sz. 10 Burton SLX boots

    Ships from Dartmouth, NS.

  2. Two beautiful snowboardcross boards built by Jasey Jay Anderson.

I am the original owner, and talked directly with JJA about all construction details.  An image is attached with the specifications.  Both boards have a 1º base edge and a 2º side edge.  They are razor sharp, and there is plenty of edge remaining.  Neither board has ever had a base grind.  I'm hysterical about my equipment, so they're in great shape, with lots of life remaining.

One board was used exclusively for boardercross racing, the other for training.  The racer board was actually used by Jasey himself for one day at a World Cup in Montafon, Austria.  The two boards are basically identical, but I always felt like the one JJA rode was pervaded with a little extra magic.

I've owned a Kessler Cross, the small sidecut (circa. 10m) made it pretty fun to carve around at low speed.  These JJA's are superior for racing, the larger sidecut and wider waist makes them faster and more stable.

    Price Breakdown:

$1,000 CAD or $760 USD for the pair for boards including two sets of riser plates

$600 CAD or $460 USD for one board with one set of riser plates

$550 CAD or $420 USD for one board only with no riser plates.

$275 CAD or $210 per set of Burton Diode bindings, Re:flex, size medium

$40 CAD for shipping in Canada

$50 USD for shipping in contiguous USA

  3. I'm looking for a board for my Brother-in-law.

He is a typical 41 year old father of two, that gets out to The hill 10 times a year, but also fits in one epic ski trip (with yours truly) each season. He grew up slaying skate parks and his father even built him a full-size half pipe in the late 80’s.

Any chance someone blowing out a demo or something? Here are the specs:

    • About 6’

    • 200lbs

    • Size 11ish boot

    • The board will only get tuned once or twice each season (i.e. magna traction would be ideal)

    • No rails, limited pipe, maybe a jump sometimes

    • Lots of groomers, trees, crud

  4. Burton Driver X Boots

Brand spanking new 2015 boots.  Still in box.  Size 9.5.  The ultimate softboot carver, everyone wants these.  In fact, if you want them this season you're probably already too late.  A steal at $275 CAD or $240 USD, shipped.

    Ride Insano Boots

2014 boots with about 15 or so days.  They look fantastic.  Size 9.5.  $130 CAD or $115 USD, shipped.

    Ride El Hefe Bindings

2014 model.  In the sick Ride box that looks like it should house an assult rifel.  Size Large.  Condition is perfect other thank non-original ankle strap ladders.  Crazy adjustable, interchangable cant footbeds.  Ideal for SBX racing or softboot carving.  $255 CAD or $220 USD will put them at your door.

I'm always up for trades, I really want to try a Volkl Coal Race, I also want some Giro Empire cycing shoes or anything made by Rapha; so offer something interesting if you've got it!

  5. Absurdly stiff.

Killer boot for SBX racing, soft boot carving, or anything off piste.

Used about 5 days. A piece of piping is frayed, as seen in the attached photo. Otherwise, they still look and smell like new.

    Size 9.5

    Payment:

$150 USD via PayPal gift shipping included

$150 CAD via e-transfer shipping included

  6. I've had a great time Sunday River and Sugarloaf in Late November.

Yes, there are limited runs open. But you have the hill to yourself and the grooming team really makes sure the coverage is reasonable. Also, the prices are great!

    Good Luck.

    Hey everyone,

I am currently thinking about starting my season early and was contemplating a trip over the Thanksgiving Holiday to Stowe, VT, and was wondering if anyone has done something similar in the past. I'm sure conditions are pretty uncertain in November, but with snowmaking, do you think that things would be ride-able, and would there be more than a handful of trails open by this point? Please share similar experiences if you have them!

    Thanks!

  7. 1. Why was there only four racers instead of six? (My preference is four btw, I think it typically opens up the course and allows the best riders to show off their skills. Like 4-on-4 hockey.)

    2. Who designed the course? In the training runs a few athletes posted on youtube it looks like most riders are over-shooting the transitions on the jumps --- this was definitely the case on race day. The second feature took out all the best riders, maybe because they were going just slightly faster and had to land pan-flat rather than catching the last tiny bit of the transition.

    Thoughts?

What's the scr on this board? If you're coming to Maine to ride, it would be excellent to test pilot for possible purchase. Let me know when you're coming and we can make some turns.

It is variable, but I think it was around 15m. The Apex website used to have it listed, but it appears their board sizes have changed.

A test ride is a great idea. I think I'm gonna be riding on the 29-30 of Nov, and December first. I'll post the trip details once finalized.
