Yes, Colorado is stellar. We had great snow at Christmas and New Years - New yeara day at Snowmass was face shots on The Wall all day. Made our fifth run at about 2:20 and still had untracked in probably two feet of fresh- it had been blowing in there all night.
Good storm two days ago, and expecting another 6-12 on Sat night.

I can commiserate. Over here in Thailand it is 100 degrees, and I don't think it will snow tonight. I can see that this is going to be yet another year where I don't get to snowboard here.....

Amazing so warm in Thailand, and then you see the increadibly massive amounts of snow in Japan.
Guess just like in the States though. Misery out east, and heaven in Colorado. Awoke this morning to another 6" at the house, and it is still coming down. Bet the mountains might have 12" new by the end of the day. Riding has been all around fantastic in Colorado.

I will be in attendance for most days, and probably Tim from Denver also. We're both riding on new boards bought after testing everything out at SES last year.
And Ray and his wife just bought the house right next door to us here in the RF valley. We haven't been riding together yet, but sure it will be happening.
Looking forward to SES 06.

I used to manage the ski and snowboard schools at BrianHead. It's not a bad little place. With the base at 10,000 ft. they usaully have some amazing snow for southern Utah.
It usually has some pretty good grooming. If you can go mid-week, you may have cordoroy much of the day.
I think it is worth the drive from Vegas.

If you are intending to stick with teaching for a while, I would highly encourage it. Re-read some of these posts- others believe in the benefits of education. You would be abazed how much more you can learn.
I am level 3 psia, teaching for 20 years,but have no certification for snowboarding. But the psia clinics I still attend can teach so much if you think about how to carry it through to your discipline of choice.
My best client now I got because I was the first person he found who could teach him on a full hard-boot set-up. (I used to work a lot with the Boone Lennon QuickCarve. )
Lots of people taking lessons now are encouraged by magazine articles, friends, etc. to ask for someone who is "certified". Between that, the pay, and definitely being able to learn more about your own teaching and riding, I would say it is worth it.
