Our city has a keystroke monitor. They know everything we do. I dont care, but if we surf too much we get a sit down. They are actually pretty reasonable to us since our internet use can be considered recreational after normal business hours. The city had a problem a few years ago when an employee went around the monitoring software to surf porn. He was an IT guy so it never bled to our side.

I hear the Depends are the only ones out there that really suck when they are "Damp"

I would say at this point focus on fun. Dont expect too much, no matter how proud you are of him. Then work on balance. I would also venture that at this point he will not be able to absorb the finer minutiae regarding technique. so have fun, be patient and enjoy your time together. Looks like you use a harness which I did with my kids. Its safe and you can help them steer. You will hear differing opinions on them, I think they rock. The guy who told me it was like leashing a dog has rocks in his head. Ski schools usually wont take kids under 4 any way and they need to be potty trained. There have been many discussions here regarding the best age to let a kid board. My kids have been on skis since 15 months old. I prefer to wait to let them board when they reach 100 lbs (my arbitrary number) when they develop the coordination to actually ride a board. My oldest has shown some competency at 7 so I am looking into letting him start sooner. I would prefer he ski until proficient and then board, but Im his dad and he doesnt have to listen to me. Good luck. Oh, it will probably be easier if you were on skis. JMHO, Ive done both, skis are easier.

No mention of a small Camelback? Extra water, enough room for all of the stuff you mentioned and its easy to carry. I know, traditionalists scoff at the thought of using one on the road, but if Im unsupported in the middle of no where i dont give a crap what anybody else thinks. Im not talking about Mule here, or a day pack.

Looks like Im a go. MrJamie, if you can get to Auburn I can give you a ride.

I must say Stan "Pimpdaddy" Segress looks pretty stylin in that sweet Toque of his.

Its nuts. The westside of the cascades is prone especially with snow in the lowlands like we have had. West side mountain drainage is designed to flood, its the population that gets in the way. Lots of building in those natural drains, combined with steep saturated slopes, tall trees and wind means look out. Stay tuned......

That KIRO LINK has the slide show I was looking for.

Hyak slid to the dirt........:(
-
One of our local hills (smaller hill, called Hyak or East Snoqualmie Summit) slid to bare earth on about 75% of the slope. The rain here is decimating the snow pack with some amazing results. Ill post some pics when I find them.

I worked on GM products (as well as VW and Land Rover among others) and I was never impressed with their quality. The only thing leaking oil more were Land Rovers. Rattles? Poor assembly? Sorry fellas, why are you all so surprised nobody wants to buy a crappy product? This is no surprise, and you all have had years to improve. Hell, Im a union guy, but I am having a hard time with some of the sweet deals labor has had, without improving their end of the quality spectrum. if Japanese builders can make a decent product in a US plant why cant the big three?

Second the Ice Cream in a round container(s) unless for root beer floats, then a square container on vanilla is acceptable. Depending on the city they probably have specific policies banning alcohol on the premesis or accepting alcohol. Unles you can figure out a way to get it to them off duty. You guys carry an epi pen and benedryl now?

Our city has clear policies on appropriate use of computers and they have been beating us over the head with them for years, so there is no excuse which I tend to agree with. Proxy server? Yup. Keystroke monitor? check. Each department has someone who monitors use. We have some sites blocked ,but they can be accessed with approval.. Itunes? Blocked. FB and Bomber, CL? Not blocked. Youtube? Aok. Dating sites? Also ok. If we do have a popup, we need to tell a supervisor. On time a few years ago we had some nasty popups. The guys were on the boss's computer, while his profile was still open and had a chain of popups come up, they could not close them fast enough. It was funny as hell. They werent actually doing anything wrong, but they still had to tell the boss. He was not amused.
