Guest rphillips
I've ridden 0/0, 1/1 and this weekend rode 1/3. I can't tell if it was the conditions, my head or the 3 degree side bevel but the board did not ride the way I expected it to. What characteristics should I expect from a 3 degree side? What are the cons?
Guest jschal01
Basically, much better edge-hold once the edge is engaged. Although the difference between 1 side and 3 side is miniscule, the difference in carving performance is huge. The steeper the side bevel, the harder it can be to get off once you're on, but 3 is generally a happy compromise assuming that you have more of a carving or edging focus. What was different from what you expected about the way the board rode?
