Kirk
Snowbasin - Started 9AM on the Burner (197). Snow was BEAUTIFUL, just a bit soft for carving (trenching to my boot cuffs!) and the grooming was lacking BIG TIME. Saw all the freshies and was, at first, sad that the only other ride I had w/me was my little Nidecker SL 161. Didn't pack the freeride deck before leaving. Kicking myself in the @$$, I said "wrong tools for the day" After about 6 or seven runs on the Burner, I said - "time to switch rides". OH was I glad I did. Mid-shin to knee deep freshies on the SL, trees, steeps - the WORKS! Didn't submarine ONCE. Lots a floatin' with occasional carves on the trail. But I really tried to stay away from anything machine worked! In short - It had been a LONG time since I had ridden the fresh stuff with a SL board and just had my stoke renewed today! Just thought I'd share :D
